Sorry you have gotten so many unhelpful comments. The fact that a lot of the FEMA hotel people are loosing their subsidies is only going to make the housing market tighter. Did you see my suggestions on post #35?
Another idea would be to drive to an area where people are staying in their homes and cleaning up. An area where people can relate to the kind of person you are. If you could help out when you are not a work they might like an extra pair of hands and some money. If the crime situation is bad, they might like a warning dog on the premises.
Rush this morning mentioned that Katrina survivors have so far gotten $240,000 per household Federal aid. Is this anywhere near the truth?
