give us the numbers and such from the BSOD, we will be able to help better. Does it get to windows? Have you tried booting into Safe mode?

The error message begins as in my original post with the following information:
STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x80545FF0, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F) Beginning dump of physical memory
The computer is an HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop with an AMD XP-M processor using Windows XP
