When I lived in SC, they never heard of Ricotta Cheese - they told me that Cottage Cheese was just as good.

ever put tomatoes in your grits? ROFL! No. I really eat tomatoes only if their in something like pizza or chili.
Cheese on grits isn't too bad though. :-)

ever put tomatoes in your grits? Lean cubed pork instead of beef, tomatoes and roasted, peeled chopped green chilies along with onion, garlic & cilantro.
Mmmm Chili Rellenos (Ree-a-nos..(sp?), green corn tamales....
CRUD!
Now I want green chilies, too!

A lot of fillin' stations, bars, diners and other high class establishments have these big jars on the counter by the register. Some have the pigs feet, some have whole eggs in some red stuff... vinegar with beet juice, maybe? Always kinda creeped me out. Maybe it's a southern thing. Or am I crazy?
