A lot of fillin' stations, bars, diners and other high class establishments have these big jars on the counter by the register. Some have the pigs feet, some have whole eggs in some red stuff... vinegar with beet juice, maybe? Always kinda creeped me out. Maybe it's a southern thing. Or am I crazy?

Certainly seen jars of pickled eggs in taverns and such, but the 'juice' was clear, not coloured.
Afraid I've just never seen eggs (or pickled pigs' feet) in a big jar w/red 'juice', sorry. (shrug)
