A woman faces charges after a US baggage search found a human skull with teeth, hair and skin in her luggage at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Florida officials have said.
Haitian Myrlene Severe, 30, a permanent US resident, arrived on Thursday afternoon from Cap Haitien, Haiti, aboard a Lynx International Airlines Flight, said US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Miami.

Once, a number of years ago, I was taking an anatomy class, and I went home for the holidays. I had a human skull (a real one) to study, and I brought it with me. Not wanting to lose it or have it damaged, I carried it on the plane, without thinking of what it would look like when I went through security.
As the innocent-looking box went through the X-ray, they obviously triggered some sort of alarm. Suddenly, there were police officers standing next to me, looking very nervous indeed.
I realized (a bit late, I know) what I'd done, and announced "no, it's OK; I'm a medical student, and that's a skull to study."
As I opened the box, they all backed away, wide-eyed, and I could see they thought there was going to be a human head in the box. But once they could see it was an old skull, they all crowded back around, and thought it was neat.
I wouldn't want to make the same mistake now...

I'm not one bit surprised. It is 2006 and these people are still dancing around dead chickens. Hey, what's wrong with that?
stops dancing...puts down chicken...

"If it wasn't USDA inspected, you can't bring in meat from foreign countries. It doesn't matter if you plan to eat it yourself." Yup. I tried to get some chewable Heart-Gard for my doggies from Australia (cheaper)and they said they could only sell the pill. The chewable type contained beef and they could not ship/import it to the US.
