Turns out Mike Holmgren lost respect, as well as the NFL championship at Super Bowl XL by insisting that officiating was a factor in the Seahawks' 21-10 loss to the Steelers. Holmgren's better than that.
As a veteran NFL coach, he at least ought to be held to a higher standard.
Sadly, Holmgren pointed the finger instead of the thumb.

Your behavior proves otherwise, despite your protests.
(I think you mean you could NOT care less.)
There are probably more posts from Steeler apologists whining about Seattle whining than actual posts from Seattle crybabies.
Hypocrites who can't even spell or successfully cut and paste.

Cowher upset with 'ludicrous' penalty call
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bill Cowher didn't have time to shake hands with Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher after the (playoff) game. He was too busy running after referee Ron Blum." (snip)
"For a game to be decided on that call is ludicrous,'' Cowher said. "And for me to have to explain to an official what's reviewable and what's not is wrong. Fine me if you want. That's the truth.'' (snip)
And of course, Joey Porter as usual whining through his tears:
"It's the playoffs, there is a lot at stake. If anyone should be ready, then it should be them.'' Pittsburgh linebacker Joey Porter said: "He should lose his job for that.''(snip)
All through the first half of the game, the Steelers did everything possible to give the game to Seattle short of handing them the Lombardi trophy. If they couldn't capitalize on all the chances they were given, sorry, but they deserved the loss.
Agree with ya, Motherbear.
Anyone can accept being beaten fair and square and chances are the Seahawks would have lost anyway.
The officials ruined the game for both teams. The Seahawks fans are upset over the bad calls and the Steeler fans are denied an untarnished victory.
Let the best team win without any "help". That's what everyone wants to see, whether their team wins or not.
I'm a life-long Rams fan (don't ask why!), and I rooted for the Steelers for the exact same reason!
I was disgusted at how they so callously ran plays down the center of the field- 10 yard dumps which killed over 30 seconds a pop. They also ran the ball once, with precious few minutes left. Hoemgren clearly deserves the blame for this. DOLT moves.
Its not the classy thing to do by Holmgren to bring up the bad officiating. But think of how you would have felt if Gore had been given the 2000 election because the Democrat vote counters changed the rules and starting giving Gore votes out of thin air. Oh wait, that did happen and you and I and every other GOP member yelled, screamed and hit the street to protest until we got a just outcome.
Maybe they'd like some CHEESEHEADS to go with their WHINE........
I didn't have a dog in that fight, but I've got to say that if the refs that called the game are the very best the NFL has to offer, then they are really sucking wind a lot more than I thought. It was a poorly called game, by both the team coaches and the referees. After a while, my wife and I were betting on what blown call they would do next, and she beat me 5 to 3. Drats, now I'm doing the dishes all week!
OH GOOD GRIEF.
WHAT A BUNCH OF CRYBABIES.
YOUR TEAM SUCKED BEFORE, IT SUCKS NOW AND WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK IN THE FUTURE.
YOU HAD YOUR DAY IN THE SUN AND BLEW IT.
BTW That's not rain in Seattle it's god p'ing on you latte drinking losers
Comming from Canukinstan, that is classic.
COMMIE!
Didn't Canada just legalize homo marriage? I could swear I did.
Hey Steeler fans, don't add stupid to annoying please. I had no dog in that fight and even leaned toward wanting the Steelers to win. The officals looked like amatures. Don't be stupid, admit it.
Unfortunately the Steelers 'D' allowed many more yards to the Seahawks than the Steelers gained. If you add the yards which the refs stole from Seattle, not to mention the points, Seattle would have had about 500 yards. Without the terrible calls the Seahawks would have had scored at least 11 more points. When the Steelers were nearly robbed in the INdy game, I said so, and when Seattle got screwed in this game, I say so. I heard the old Packers announcer Jim Irwin on Monday and he had it right. The officials should not call marginal calls in the biggest game of the year. The offensive pass interference was a perfect example of a situation where the Steeler DB had his hands illegally on the receiver twice during the pass route, and the two players were basically handfighting at the end. The holding call and phantom tackle at the end of the game were beyond poor calls. With the biggest game of the year headed towards a fnatastic finish, it should have been the players deciding the game, not the refs. BTW I find it hard to believe Pittsburg played the second half without committing ONE infraction? Give me a break.........

I agree that VERY bad officiating caused the Seahawks to lose 11 points. Still, good teams win despite adversity. I agree with Holmgren that the Seahawks took the brunt of the bad calls, but disagree that that should have been the public answer. Because it sounds like whining, and had the Seahawks also held on to more passes, they still had a chance.
