Please pray for my grandma. She was taken to the hospital last night in severe pain. She's in surgery right now and is expected to be under for 2-4 hours. She's 88 years old and may not make it through this. Her health has deteriorated rapidly in the last 2 weeks. Our priest is there with my parents. Leona is in a state of grace right now. Please pray that God's will be done. We're all hurting right now.

Lord,
It is hard to face that dark reality
that our life is limited,
and one day, easy or hard,
we will return to you.

And yet, even seeing the outcome,
you bless us with the desire to carry on,
and give us hope,
for you are our healer,
our light,
our salvation,
who has pity for our sorrows,
and care for all our ills.

Lord, today, we especially recommend to you our sister(brother) (name),
who is looking down that hard road.
Be with her, and if you will, let her body be healed.
Give her and her family the strength they need,
and smooth their way in the face of all obstacles,
and fill them with that peace that only comes from you.

Lord, you are our light, our life and our salvation. To whom else should we turn?

UPDATE:

Leona made it through 5 hours of surgery. She is in ICU on a ventilator and is alive. She's not well and will never be the same. I guess God wasn't quite ready to take her yet. I'll take every minute of getting to hold her hand but I still hate to see her in pain. The doctor's aren't sure if she'll wake up and be lucid again or not. She's at great risk of so many different infections. She won't be going back home with my parents. We have the huge task of finding a care facility worthy of such a great woman. :o) Her life has been an inspiration for me on many occasions.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. It really helps to see the kindness of others.
