QUINCY, Mass. It may be the sign a Massachusetts man was praying for.
After Dennis Thomson lost his 20-year-old son in a car crash, the Boston-area man prayed for a message that his son was all right.
Now, Thomson's prayer may have been answered. His son's picture is on a Red Sox billboard that recently went up near Fenway Park.
The son, also named Dennis Thomson, is shown with two other men. They're celebrating a home run by outfielder Trot Nixon that won a 2003 playoff game against the Yankees.
Thomson was killed a year later by an alleged drunken driver.
The Red Sox say they had no idea who the fans were when they put up the billboard. But the team says it's proud to have Dennis appear as a symbol for Red Sox Nation.
The family has made several trips to see the billboard since a friend alerted them to it.

I am very sorry to hear about your son.
My husband's elderly aunt died a few days ago. She was sitting with her daughter and praying. Suddenly, she called out, "Joe, Joe" and died shortly thereafter. Her brother Joe died about ten years ago.
Another lady I know called out the name of her departed husband right before she died. She reached out her arms to him.
Thank you. I have heard of people calling the name of a dead relative just before dying too. I find that extremely comforting.
Beautiful. And comforting to his family and friends.
My son, John, died of leukemia years ago, and a girl friend of his died of leukemia six months to the day the same year.
Her family, surrounding her bed and holding hands, were praying as she passed over. Her mother looked up just as she exhaled her last breath and saw John and Tara dancing.
What a marvelously comforting sign to two families.
Thanks for the ping!
Thanks for the Ping CB! That was a comforting sign.
About 4 years ago my older brother, and my closest friend was hospitalized for a heart problem. While in Intensive Care at 3am he told me 2 men & 2 women came into his room and asked how he was. They told him he would be crossing over soon and he had nothing to fear. They turned and walked out of the room. A moment later a nurse walked in. When he asked who the people were, she told him there hasn't been any visitors ,since 10 pm the night before.
He told me the story the next day. He was released from the hospital 5 days later and crossed over peacefully that night in his sleep. We always felt that was a sign he went to heaven before, he actually went.
This kind of thing raises the hair on my neck and gives me the shivers.
That is a good story. Thanks.
I know what you mean. After his death, a friend frequently "walked" into my dreams to put his arm around my shoulders in the same old way, and I was always aware that he seemed extremely real, interrupting the storyline of the dream. After a couple of years, I had a dream where I was waiting for him to arrive, which was unusual. He finally walked in, put his arm around me and just said "Let me go". He has never walked in to a dream since, and I'm sure it's because he's gone on.
My sister's 23 yr old son died of New Onset Diabetes Mellitis four years ago on Feb. 16th. She had several experiences, the first a few weeks after his death in which he walked into her room and held her hand and said "mom, I'm good, I'm good". But he was not looking at her. He was looking out the window. Last November (2005) she was asleep in their basement room (which used to be her son's), and saw him standing over on the other side of the room. She said it felt so real as she got up and walked over to him and held both his hands. This time, he was smiling and looking at her and said. I'm fine mom, don't worry. She said she even kissed him on the cheek. I cry for joy for her every time I think of it.
blessings,

You are Welcome!
It is also a sign that the two OTHER guys will be dead soon???
My grandparents died within six months of each other. While granny was waiting for gramps, she would send me signs. When I first opened her briefcase after her death, there was an envelope in it that was facing down. I'd never seen it before but I *knew* what it contained and started laughing so hard that Mr. M in the other room asked what was up. It contained a 30 year old letter from granny to her sister talking about how one of gramps' jokes had gotten me grounded (not funny at the time, but years later lol). The letter was postmarked so it had been delivered to her sister so how it got back into granny's possession it a mystery unto itself but how I knew what it was... well, that's strange. I think granny just wanted to let me know everything would be ok and to send me a good laugh.
