If you can't be there in person then sometimes the "Live Album" can be the next best thing.
Following are a few of my favorites, in no particular order. Please share some of your own!
1.
Great upbeat album. The crowds enthusiasm is infectious!
2.
This album reminds me of spying on my parents parties when they would break of this record and dance in our living room.
3.
"I killed a man just to watch him die" - Great audience response! ;o)
4.
"The King Must Die" and "Have Mercy on the Criminal" are superb!
5.
(Hand over ears) I don't care what you say - lalalalalalala - I like it! :op

Delicate Sound Of Thunder may not be the best of all time, but it's probably the best in my collection.

1. Don Francisco - The Live Concert 1988 The dude from "Sabado Gigante?"
No, the pioneering Gospel singer. He is a superb guitarist and songwriter. His live album is a masterpiece of understated instrumentation and brilliant song craftmanship.

That's generally what happens when most bands or artists are recorded live - sadly. It's worse when you drop $50+ on a bad concert rather than $15 on a bad live album.

Forgot about Lou Reed and the Rock n Roll Animal album. An all time classic. Saw him live at the Felt Forum, shortly after that release, but the show wasn't close to what he produced for that album - smaller band and a lot less enthusiasm. Interesting crowd though.

Why would you get flamed for saying what your personal favorites are? Everyone has personal favorites.
Unless the flamer is a fool.

THAT would be pretty painful.
I haven't been to a concert in years.
But I grab studio performance music, as I don't wanna be disappointed.

Yep,
I did....I have everything KB has ever done (plus a few bootleg videos of early performances).
I like Aerial...its nice to hear her sing again.
Though the 'Washing Machine' song makes me giggle (not sure why :) )

You know she was discovered by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour?
He got her a record contract and produced her first album, IIRC.
