I agree with you about the refs. I would say there were more than just one or two questionable to lousy calls that went against Seattle.
But you brought up Joey Porter. I have to think that his trash-talking did get into Jeramy Stevens' head. Stevens dropped 3 balls and missed another one that, I think, hit him in the back. And when he did catch that TD pass, he was extremely careful to not drop it and probably would have if he'd been hit.
I disagree with some of Holmgren's decisions, especially late in both the first and second half. Those long field goal tries weren't worth it to me. And punting on 4th and 8 when they should have gone for the first down was a bad call.
Yeah, the refs made it an uphill climb for the Seahawks, but I can't say that Seattle played a great game either.

most definitely agree with that. Stevens is eating some crow right now because he let his team down.

I watched some of the so called greatest Super Bowl Commercials last night and I would agree that the Coca Cola commercial with Mean Joe Greene might be the best and they could rerun that one and people would like it.
Anyone out there remember an American Express commercial that Paul Newman did many years ago. Now I still remember that one and it was funny, Newman never said a word. They only showed it during that Super Bowl and it was never seen again to my knowledge.

it's only an argument if both sides have a valid point of view.

Psst.
Just for the record, you're being awfully hard on us conservative Washingtonians. We lost today, in a somewhat murky way...but it seems to me that the people on our team are behaving in a genuinely decent way and not whining. There are a few of us fans that are frustrated...but so far you haven't heard the team itself whining.
Now you want to insult our baseball team as well, because you can. Just remember that we fought like crazy in this state to keep Governor Rossi in...but were told to give it up after they counted until they won.
Insult the liberals if you will. But we know what it means to have a rigged set of rules apply only to us...and to be expected to shut up and pretend like it doesn't matter.
All I'm saying is, there are days that Washington Conservatives (and yes, conservative Hawks, Mariners and Sonics fans) start to feel a little angry at the attitude that we are big pansies.
Let me tell you somethingit takes a lot of guts to live in a blue state and keep fighting the good fight knowing that we get little or no respect in the process. We don't want to surrender something we love to the liberals, no matter how difficult it is. And it makes us pretty doggone tough.
So...feel good about yourselves. Congratulations on the win. But please, cut us a little slack every now and then.
Thanks.

"He had money on the Steelers and was rooting hard for them, but even he said several times during the game that Seattle was getting jobbed pretty bad by the refs. I had to agree with him."
There were quite a few people I was with and myself who totally agree with you and your nephew. Funny, the refs missed the holds, etc. the Stealers did.

I agree that Seattle didn't play a great game, but neither did Pittsburgh. It would have been nice to find out what would have happened if the refs didn't interfere. One bad call is understandable. But three is unacceptable. Especially with the stakes so high......

You're an idiot. Pennslyvania went for the dems last time. The seahawks got robbed. The whole world saw it, but keep throwing your terrible towel around. I had no dog in this fight, but American sports lost.

I also think the refs made a lot of bad calls against Seattle and gave the game to the Steelers. I guess that makes me anti-American too? Not that I care who won. I just enjoy the honesty of the WWE because they let you know matches are rigged up front and wish the NFL would do the same.
To: WillT
If there was ANY doubt that money influences the Superbowl, that doubt was remedied this game. I could honestly give a rat's a$$ who won the game: the Seahawks were ripped off. That was NOT a pushoff, the Steeler had his hand all over him; the Seahawks had a touchdown stolen. The illegal block by the Seahawk's quarterback was a friggin tackle for God's sake. I will not be watching next year.

So Robotics is the #1 industry in the 'Burgh now, eh? I hadn't realized that...the announcers did say that the Pittsburgh fans at the game outnumbered the Seattle fans...Pittsburgh is closer to Detroit but I would have guessed Seattle had more disposable income...
I saw the game at a restaurant and so I missed a lot of the commentary and especially the commercials.
To: Natural Law
However, I do have to say that every questionable call went against Seattle.
The call against Hasselback was called back on the so called fumble but other than that Seattle was hosed by the officials. A team should be able to recoup after a bad miscall but when it robs the team too many times it's hard to win the game.

Even though I had a dog in this hunt, I want to be fair. Too bad the refs weren't. I thought the refs usually went easy on the SB. Guess that only applied to Pitts (missed at least a few holding calls).
