I've been looking at putting Linux on a machine of mine, but haven't decided which distro. In the past I have traditionally used Fedora & Mandrake.
Is there any advantage to using this web page as opposed to just downloading whatever ISO's I want from the source? What is it that this web page would give me above and beyond pointing me towards some ISO files?

Well the web will give you one ISO which would point you towards a repository (rather than ISO's). The advantage is the install action will be hands off and repeatable by using the CD. But to be fair this is nothing you cant do with the CD's its just you don't have to keep a copy around..
