A man armed with a rifle and gasoline set fire to an adult novelty store early this morning, authorities said.
Shortly after 4 a.m. the man walked into the 24-hour Town and Country Book Den, 7011 Clinton Hwy. and began pouring out gasoline and setting fires, according to the store clerk.
"The suspect asked the store clerk to leave, and the clerk complied," said Capt. Jeff Devlin of Rural/Metro Fire Department. A fire call was received at the E-911 Center shortly afterwards.
The fire heavily damaged the stores merchandise and interior of the building, Devlin said.
A description of the suspect was not available.
The Knox County Fire Bureau is investigating.

In confidence the clerk confided "The suspect was said to be aggravated because his girlfriend left him for a vibrator."

When they catch him I hope they nail his feet to the floor and set the room on fire.
