Delay's opponent in the Congressional race IS a Liberal Democrat.
Tom Delay's Congressional Race Opponent indicated to Chris Matthews (Hard Ball MSNBC), in an interview shown on Monday, that he would vote for Pelosi for Speaker of the House.
Since Pelosi cracks the whip so hard, he won't be the only one.
Delay's Opponent, Nick Lampson, has now shown that he is a LIBERAL Democrat.
The majority party is the party that gets to nominate from their candidates the leader and again Denny Hastert is the SPEAKER of the House - Tom Delay was the majority WHIP!
NOT IF REPUBLICANS LOSE THE MAJORITY. LAMPSON GETTING ELECTED, WOULD MOST LIKELY HAPPEN IF THE DEMS GET THE HOUSE BACK.
AND THAT is the whole point of the warning. Republicans MUST get out in numbers and hold the House
She would be running against Denny Hastert who is the Speaker. Sugarland is very conservative BTW. DeLay will do just fine!
They gotta take back the House first. Otherwise this guy will look foolish standing up in Congress announcing he wants Pelosi as Speaker.
If we lose the majority, Denny won't be running for Speaker.
I have your hope, that Delay wins. But Washington Republicans are ALWAYS behind the curve.
WE HAVE YET TO SEE ANY SENATE REPUBLICAN ATTACK DIRTY HARRY FOR TAKING ABRAMOFF CASH!!!!!
The "alude" to the fact the Dems took cash....but they won't attack.
That is exactly what they were speaking of in the interview. Dems taking back the house.
BTW, the feeling in Washington is that it is highly likely.
Well, the Dems can not be Speaker of the House if they do not control the House
Delay's Opponent, Nick Lampson, has now shown that he is a LIBERAL Democrat.
The dems would have to pick up, what, sixteen or so seats? So long as the dems are the party of hate, and not ideas, I don't see it happening.
Delay's district is fairly conservative he will be fine.
Never, ever,vote for a Rat!
From your keyboard to God's screen.
based on my conversations with freepers in that area.... they all know he's a looney lib.
But Ft. Bend County does not support DeLay very well. Many threads about DeLay show that DeLay's real support in the district come from Brazoria County and SE Harris County (Clear Lake, Pasadena, Deer Park, Southbelt, LaPorte).
Ft. Bend is actually the swing part of DeLay's district. Fortunately, there are more voters in the district from SE Harris County than Ft. Bend, too.
