Reading the nominations is almost like reading a satire of the movies Hollywood could choose that would offend the most people. Very few films are not political this year. Plus Jon Stewart is hosting. And they wonder why the box office is slumping. I guess they don't care - and also don't care about ratings for the Oscar awards ceremony. I don't see how the awards this year, with what they've nominated, are going to appeal to many people.

Should win in the category of "Best Depiction of Sodomy".

Was there ever any doubt from the beginning that this film would win the Oscar? We all know it's a foregone conclusion.
The Oscar statuette itself is fitting for this film.

Last week, BM increased the number of theaters from 1,196 to 1,654 theaters. And guess what? Its weekend gross box office actually reduced from $7.4m to $6.5m...

If it has a homo/transexual theme, Hollywood will love it!

Just a coincidence that box office receipts are at their lowest point ever. Hollywood really understands what the public wants.

Why have a show, just hand Brokeback Mountain the oscars now and be done with it. Then again, having a show that demonstrats the true nature of Hollyweird to America might just be the ticket.

Look for lowest ratings for the Acadamy Awards ever.

One wonders what's next for Hollywierd. Man spots favorite barnyard animal, face breaks into a smile, camera pans to subject while romantic musical interlude fads in...
"On behalf of Daisy, we accept this award. This wonderful animal's fate should spark everyone to stand up for animal rights."
Hollywierd has become the fringe of the fringe of the fringe.

Hollywood should keep up making sensitive movies like BBM and movies that show the human side of mass murderers. That will put the people in the seats.

Homosexualism triumphs in "Brokeback Mountain", transexualism is the rage in "Transamerica" and "Capote" celebrates the life, sexcapades of a deranged gay writer. How nice of Hollywood, a bunch of dopes. And George Clooney again revolting and despicable in his productions "Good Night and Good Luck" (what Bush told Gore and Kerry after disposing of them) and "Syriana" a fantasy about the Middle East...George Clooney, a legend in his own mind

Brokebutt Mountin' has become a satire of itself. It's as if the studio execs that produced that movie sat down one day and said, "What kind of movie can we make that no one will watch, will offend most everyone, yet will garner every industry award out there?" and - voila! - here we are.

Very few films are not political this year.I hoped that "The Cinderella Man" would have been given the nod. But realizing that the story was a true tale of a white male, who loves his wife and kids and struggles against adversity to reach the pinnacle of his chosen profession was a none starter. Especially a man who actually pays back the money he was given by the office of relief.
