Vanity:What Photo Editing Software 2 Buy ?

Years ago, I was a pretty good amateur photographer.

Getting back into it, I've now gone digital (Lumix FZ20)and am looking for some serious editing software w/o going $800+ Photoshop range.

Is there something in between Essentials and CS2?

Thank you so much , I will!

My degree is Paralegal (post retirement thing) but I am creative and have always done graphic design type "stuff"

Photoshop is the best. Avoid Microsoft photo programs like the plague. To get Photoshop, register for a local college class, and then buy Photoshop at a student rate - great savings.

I use Corel's PaintShop Pro (formerly Jasc).

I find it much more easier to use and never could get used to Adobe's user interface.

The advantages of Photoshop is the plug-ins, and it's the industry standard. Downside steep learning curve.
