Listeners to KNYE radio heard from owner Art Bell on the air Tuesday morning, during a break in his music format, broadcast on 95.1 FM from Pahrump.
The recent widower, whose wife Ramona was laid to rest just last week, spoke lovingly of her, saying he knew she would want him to keep KNYE running.
Bell said his wife handled all their finances, mentioning that he didn't even know the PIN number on his bank account. He also doesn't cook.
"It was my intention to leave a rich widow," Bell said. "Not the other way around."
He announced he will hire a person to handle the day to day operations of KNYE and that more details would be announced on the radio station on Jan. 22.
Bell said if residents in Pahrump see him around town, "Just be nice, because I am in an extreme grieving (process)."
Ramona Bell died unexpectedly on Jan. 5 after an asthma attack. The couple was in Laughlin on a short vacation. She was 47 years old.

Art is expected to return to "Coast To Coast" tomorrow (Sunday) night.

His show got way too goofy for me years ago, so I haven't heard him in a long time, but he seems like a decent guy. This is a crummy deal.

Coast to Coast's success is due to Art Bell. He is a very engaging interviewer even when the guest is insane.
George Noory, OTOH, is the perfect cure for insomnia.

I am not a fan of Art Bell but for lack of other things to listen to have been a listener for years when nothing else is on. I really am saddened to hear of his horrible sudden loss. I feel for him and pray he will find comfort at this time.

Poor man. Men don't generally do so well after a beloved spouse dies, for some reason. Women often fare better emotionally in the long run.

Geez, what's the deal with asthma attacks in Laughlin? I was thinking about going there next week. Well I don't have asthma, so it doesn't matter.

His show was always a glorified comic book live on air.
It was meant to be entertaining and get you interested or laughing.
I remember listening to him all through a grave yard shift I used to work as a younger man while going to college.
He's consistent with what he does and approaches it like the people he talks with are credible.
He makes it fun and gets huge ratings.
Sorry about his wife the witch. (Yep she was a witch according to what I heard Art say on radio several times)

I wonder if it was an asthma attack caused by an allergic reaction to cats. Seriously, those can be fatal, and if someone had kept a cat in their hotel room that could have triggered it. I have a friend who had to get an adrenalin shot to survive a cat allergy asthma attack.

As you already said. I suppose I should read the thread before I post.

Sorry about Art's loss. Sounds like he's having a tough time handling it. Perhaps going back on the air will help him recover.

Art Bell is an excellent interviewer IMHO. Even with guests that are "out there" Art could make it entertaining and enjoyable.
When going through tough times of my own and living alone, Art got me through many a long night. I rarely listen to C2C except when he is on (Ethan Punnette? is a good substitute, but not as good as the real thing).
I hope he can get through his recent loss. The man has had his share of bad times.

I have enjoyed listening to Art over the years. I feel so bad for his loss. He has had a real tough time over the last several years.
My favorite guest was Father Malachi Martin. When Art asked Father Martin if Bill Clinton was perfectly possessed he would not answer.
