PEEPIN' STEPHEN: Stephen Baldwin, a born-again Christian, plans to snap photos of license plates of people going into a Nyack store once it's a sex shop, then publicize their names. Photo: Djamilla Rosa/WireImage.com
Actor Stephen Baldwin has his shorts in a bunch over a sex shop opening near his estate in Rockland County.....
The least-known of the Baldwins, Stephen, a born-again Christian, parked himself outside the Route 59 location in Nyack and took snapshots of construction workers walking in and out of the building.
Once the smut shop opens in a few months, the 39-year-old star of "The Usual Suspects" plans to photograph patrons' license plates and run their names in the local newspaper to shame them from ever returning.
His beef is that the store is within a quarter-mile of the community's residential area. "This is a thoroughfare that I drive by many, many times as do college kids, mothers with their children," Baldwin said.
He said he and other residents protested at Nyack planning-board meetings and asked the owner, Quintus Algama of Hollis, Queens, to choose a more distant location, but he wouldn't listen.
In addition to selling sex toys and porn, the shop will also feature video booths where patrons can watch hardcore flicks in total privacy.
"These guys want to do this business, God bless 'em. That's between them and God. They'll have to deal with that for eternity. But the people of Nyack do not want this location where it is," Baldwin said.
Baldwin said he's already enlisted the help of dozens of students of nearby Nyack College who'll be at the store the day it opens to protest.

I just didn't know, and I think it's wonderful. Baldwin is in a great place.
don't judge my first reaction. Don't judge me.
Peace.
God works behind the scenes very well, doesn't He?
Not a chance. A Christian Baldwin is a surprise. ;)
"If someone doesn't want to suffer the stigma of bad behaviour, stop the behaviour."
Using irresponsible shaming methods by exploiting people as immoral or of bad character will lead to lawsuits, not change in behavior.
You seem to be overheated to an extreme with your concern about what other people do with their lives. It is apparent you think "anyone" who ventures into an adult store for whatever "purpose" is immoral and the world should know who these people are and they should be flogged or at least have their photos exploited as immoral people. Your zealotry raises questions.
I couldn't do it either. I think it's more of a "guy thing". lol
He really does...he is an AWESOME God
LOL
me too friend
Many thanks/ :~)
Using irresponsible shaming methods
If you do something in public, someone is going to see. Fact of life.
You seem to be overheated to an extreme with your concern about what other people do with their lives.
Moral relativism is killing this country. And poisoning our kids.
It is apparent you think "anyone" who ventures into an adult store for whatever "purpose" is immoral and
Yup.
and they should be flogged or at least have their photos exploited as immoral people.
Like I said, if there's no shame in going to a porn shop, why be ashamed of being caught?
Your zealotry raises questions.
Your excuses for immorality labels you.
Yes you did when you mentioned moral absolutes. Anyone with an IQ higher than an avocado tends to think of things like murder and rape when they think of moral absolutes. Hardly anyone thinks of entering a sex shop in the same terms and many of the people that enter such sex shops do it in the course of their jobs like the construction workers Mr. Baldwin was photographing.
Try again. Lame excuse as Victorias Secret has better stuff AND you can order from lots of places online but if your wife buys that excuse fine.
Well, judging by the inventory of many of the sex shops I have been to lingerie is one of their mainstays. You can say otherwise, but if you go into a "Love Pantry" or "Lover's Package" you'll find that about half the floor space is devoted to it.
If there's nothing wrong with being there, why be ashamed?!
There's nothing wrong with having sex, taking a crap or picking your nose either, but that doesn't mean I want someone to see pictures of me doing any of them.
"You keep saying that having your pic taken while entering or leaving a porn shop is " tainting someone as immoral or of bad character ". Your words from post 248."
"I haven't commented on what I believe is or isn't immoral."
You must have a tin ear. I haven't expressed a view whether I believe visiting a porn shop is immoral. If you are going to quote me, please use the entire sentence. You are the one claiming these people are immoral. I haven't expressed a view that they are or are not.
My comment:
"This is not the same as deliberately tainting someone as immoral or of bad character which would be actionable in a court of law."
And ashamed of it, but wanting to feel justified, from the sounds of his broken record posts...
There are moral absolutes. Our society is diluting them as you appear to be trying to do.
Hardly anyone thinks of entering a sex shop in the same terms
Really? Then why all the excuses? Why the condemnation of Baldwin?
There's nothing wrong with having sex, taking a crap or picking your nose either, but that doesn't mean I want someone to see pictures of me doing any of them.
I hardly think those things are equal. If there's no moral stigma to everyone knowing a person frequents a porn shop then where's the problem?
"who may be of high moral character"
"Doubt it."
Please do not edit my comments out of context. People might think you need to cheat to make your point.
My comment:
Deliberate character assassination could affect anyone who happens to call on these business and who may be of high moral character.
You can't wiggle out of it. You said: However, publishing photos of people with the implication they are immoral or of bad character for entering a legal business in post 219.
Post 249: If a person buys condoms in an adult store or at Walmart, is he to be held up to public ridicule for being immoral or of bad charcter?
You've said it in almost every post. You constantly refer to having a pic of someone taken leaving or entering a porn shop as an attempt to portray them as immoral or of bad character. You lost this debate a long time ago and arguing in circles ian't helping.
I'll repeat what I said to a page or 2 ago. People don't want their pics taken at the store because they feel shame being caught there.
The repeated attempts at justification is very telling.
"Or addicted to porn."
And ashamed of it, but wanting to feel justified, from the sounds of his broken record posts..."
Please respond directly to me if you have concerns. Making snide remarks passively like that reflects poorly on you. I won't bite you, I promise.
I've read this thing from the beginning and I don't remember seeing you post that venturing into an adult store made the person immoral, but I have noted that this dude (dudette?) mentions that frequently, like in almost every one of his/her/its posts... Wonder who is making the value judgement here...
Doubt it. Man you are some parser!
