Had Jake Plummer come along at a different time, it wouldn't be difficult imagining him driving a decorated Volkswagen bus, wearing a tie-dyed shirt, sporting long hair and a scruffy beard, picking up buddies across the country on his way to Woodstock.
No, that wouldn't be a fair vision.
*************
The other day, Plummer was waiting to order his dinner at Qdoba when he noticed a little girl smiling at him.
"I look over at her and I said, 'Hey, what are you getting?"' Plummer said. "And she just laughed. For me to evoke that kind of response of that little kid, gosh, man.
"Some guy wrote an article saying I'm not good enough to take this team all the way. Does what that guy wrote matter when I just made this little girl's day?"

Yeah, parity sucks hunh? Too bad that the Patriots can't be in the Superbowl every year, much like the Red Sox in the Series seem to be.

In this day and age of te "million dollar athletes", it is really nice to read about one of them that has his head on straight, and knows from whence he came. His heroes are his family, and that is as good as it will ever be. Thanks for sharing this great story with us. The NFL needs a lot more men like him, than what they seem to have now. Forget the NBA as they will never recover their luster from years past due to the players and the troubles they have.Yes............. I hope you took the time to read the entire article.
I always seemed to like this young man, however I really never knew much about him.
Damn, I hate to see such a nice kid lose a big game ............ oh well. Steelers will rule.

He seems like a well grounded nice guy.Yes............. darn. As a Steeler fan, I find it a little bit of a bummer to respect someone so much who I want to stink up the joint.

BTW, Espn started running the National Spelling Bee every year at about the same time they started the X-games. Coincidence?

Now that's funny! Notice the "J" and the "B" are nowhere near mistake distance. ;)
Ill give you the correction on his last name, though. But I dont like him enough to care to spell his last name right.

Jen Rothlisberger Very funny. Big Ben is on the verge of becoming an NFL legend. He'd squish Plummer like a bug.

Very funny. Big Ben is on the verge of becoming an NFL legend. He'd squish Plummer like a bug. Good Lord, spare us all. Ben is an able QB. He isnt asked to save the world and he isnt terrible. He is lucky enough to be on the Steelers.
