With all the Hollywood Hoopla glorifying a Western Movie about *Gay Cowboys* I thought a thread identifying a True American Western Movie is in order, so freepers what is you're all time Favorite Western Movie?

The Magnificent Seven.

This is a film about people rediscovering their sense of honor.

Hollywood rarely touches the subject of honor; Forrest Gump comes to mind as a famous example, but there aren't many others.

Great Ones!
I really like Snowy River, I think it's only on Video now, can't remember if it was ever on TV!

I think I will go rent it again! :)

Gotta throw Tombstone and Lonesome Dove in there too.

I agree with those, if we're talkin' "Real" Westerns.

True Grit... "Fill yer hands you Sonofabitch!"

The Cowboys... "We're burnin' daylight."

Outlaw Josey Whales... "You boys gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?"

Good choice on "The Searchers". I would say the many Eastwood movies, "A Fistful of Dollars", "Hang Em' High", and "Unforgiven".

Funny no one has mentioned any Westerns with Kevin Costner...

Monte Walsh. Best cowboy movie ever.

It even stars Tom Selleck, a real gun toting conservative.

But let's get one thing clear; Brokebutt Mountain ain't about cowboys. They was sheep herders. And everybody knows that cowboys despise range maggots.

Seven Brides For Seven Brothers!

My favorite scene is the picnic/barn-raising. And I'm not gay either.

Three by John Wayne: She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Shootist. One by Clint Eastwood: The Outlaw Josey Wales. Broken Arrow with Jimmy Stewart and Jeff Chandler.

Know there's more than one, but "Never apologize, it's a sign of weakness"

I just mentioned that! Monty Walsh was a great movie, they need to show it on TNT again!

Tombstone is probably the best modern Western I've seen.

Lonesome Dove was good, long but good.
