How hard is it to grow okra, BTW? And what are the plants like - vines or something like beans?

I love okra...

If I remember correctly, okra plants have lovely flowers like squash plants. They remind me of hibiscus!

Okra grows on a stalk and depending on what variety you've got and how much rain you get, they can get way tall.

Back home we usually seeded them directly in the garden and I always had trouble getting them to germinate even after I soaked the seeds overnight. I guess living 60 miles away from your garden kinda put a damper on keeping the soil moist. :)

Anyway, I soaked these seeds for over 24 hours and kept them moist and they're coming up now!

I've got regular-sized Clemson Spineless and a bush variety.
