Well, how bad was it, and what kind of things?

* Flood Watch For The Following Western Washington Counties... Clallam... Jefferson... Mason... Grays Harbor... Pierce... Thurston ... Lewis.

* From This Evening Through Wednesday Afternoon.

The Next Pacific Frontal System Will Produce Another Round Of Significant Rainfall Over The Olympic Peninsula And Southwest Washington This Afternoon Through Tonight. This Could Result In Additional River Flooding In The Watch Area.

The Rivers That Flooded On Monday Face The Greatest Threat Of Renewed Or Prolonged Flooding. This Includes The Chehalis... Skookumchuck... Satsop... Skokomish... And Deschutes Rivers... And The Reach Of The Puyallup River Near Orting. However... Other Rivers Of The Olympic Peninsula And Southwest Washington Could Also Flood.

The Incoming Front Will Bring Up To Two To Four Inches Of Rain Over The Higher Terrain... With The Highest Amounts Over The South Facing Slopes Of The Olympic Mountains.

A Flood Watch Means Conditions Are Favorable For Flooding But Flooding Is Not Imminent Or Occurring. Monitor The Weather And Be Ready To Act Quickly If Flooding Is Observed Or A Warning Is Issued.

The Chehalis is the River south of here that flooded a couple weeks ago... The Deschutes is the one that runs right through Tumwater and has the falls we went to see.

The Deschutes is in a deep gully through town, it never floods dangerously, except some flooding of a golf course upriver from the falls. It will make the falls loud and fast to go see this weekend.

Rosie, I thought you'd appreciate the names of the other rivers ;~D

Well...first of all the front end alignment needed to be done, plus an oil change, and rotating and balancing the tires, and they're also doing a tune-up because some of those parts were corroded...plugs and stuff. And since I've really not done anything with it since I've had it other than an oil change and a fixing a problem with the rear suspension, I can accept that.

I can't remember the name of the other two parts that needed work, but I guess they're the boots that go around the front-wheel drive thingie. Man, I hate being an idiot about such things. They said they're the parts that keep lubricant around the whole mechanism, and one is split and the other is starting to crack - just age and weather, I guess. And I'm guessing that's not something you want to go far without. He said I COULD replace just the split one, but the other would need to be done within a month or so anyway, sooner if I'm going a long distance.

Also they said the power steering fluid needs to be flushed. Again, I've never had that done, and I've put 30k on the car since I've had it, and who knows when it was done before that. They did have a special on that service, so there's that. But...it adds up to a LOT.
