The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just beautiful, Ramius.

Thought of a name yet?

Hmm... I've not normally been one to name rigs... but perhaps a name will come along. Maybe an indian name?

I'd have a word or two with you...but it wouldn't really help.

Keep hope alive :)

FYI, an updated wedding date has been posted over at the Yahoo site. Due to conflicts, long-range planning, and other sharp doses of reality our earlier date was more wishful thinking than possible.

Yeah, it was vey intense, especially since this one was a old diesel boat and vey small. I think I remember hearing in the commentary that Das Boot was the very first movie that Jurgen Prochnow dubbed in English for his part. He is such a good actor.

That's a fine ride! It looks much like the old Jeep Wagoneer with the boxy shape.

Not that I can think of... I called Del's about the hay, they said they'd switch it out, I said... "great... I'll wait till a dry day to bring this back so I can get the good hay home dry" and they said 'fine'.

I don't know if I could eat a purple carrot.

We used to play with food coloring in college... put it in our top ramen. We found it was really hard to eat something blue.

They're...different, anyway! Kinda like purple cabbage.

Wonder if they're higher in any antioxidants or nutrients than regular carrots.

'zactly... Jeep undid some of the design mistakes they've been making lately... like the rest of the retro thing that is happening in U.S. car makers I think it is a very good thing.

There's a very cool concept Jeep pickup that might happen sometime soon that reaches back to the Willy's for design, and I think it really looks good. It's called the Gladiator.

They're going to sell a lot of these:
