Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

"Leave Her to Heaven"That was one of my Mama's favorite movies! I've never seen it, so I'll have to get it from Netflix.

Like I said, at least it had a happy ending! But...ouch.

That is interesting!
Was the Walmart water advertised as distilled water? Hmm, sounds like they are just bottling "clean" tap water to sell as drinking water.
(It's just scary about your local water supply. You would think that they would cut Tulsa's water company. We NEVER HAD brackish or even black water issues. Maybe times have changed? That was over 15 years ago afterall.)

GAK! Are you quite certain that ~wasn't~ a large rodent?
To: Peanut Gallery
No.... not certain at all ;~D

The one of mine that broke has a rapid fire 3/second mode. Keeps taking them as long as you hold it down. Many newer reasonably prices ones have that.

Cool. I figured out, in Microsoft movie maker, how to take stills from .avi files too. So the other way to get really good action is to make short movie clips.

Ah...I wouldn't have thought of that. Good idea!
To: RosieCotton
It doesn't work so good inside, because there's no flash with movies, at least with mine... so they come out dark.
But got this shot as a still from a movie I took by accident of the horses... Cyn jumping over the drainage ditch.

I take accidental movies all the time with my new camera, it's really easy to switch the mode to movie without noticing, so I think I'm taking a picture, and a few seconds later, I realize it's filming.
So I got to poking around with Movie Maker, which I only just realized I even owned, and it's got a tool that grabs screenshots. It'll also edit movies for length, which is good.
So next time I go out to take pictures of the horses runnin' and playing, I want to try doing it on purpose. You know how that pony gets to bucking, but she's so fast, I ~always~ miss it trying to take pictures the regular way.
I wish I'd have had this tool a couple years ago... I remember always getting stumped trying to take screencaps of LoTR clips that were .avi or other Windows media files. MS Movie Maker does that.

Cyn sure is jumping high for such a small rivulet of water.
Or does the angle make it look smaller than it is?

The pony is very hard to capture on film. ;-) Stills from a movie would probably work better than other methods, but even so...can't get the full effect!
She's a character all right!
To: RosieCotton
Have to see her go in person, huh!

Yeah - but she lives in the wrong part of the country to have a mud phobia.

I've got Das Boot for tonight. Somehow I doubt it has a happy ending.
To: HairOfTheDog
I apologize if this is a stupid question...
Do you think it's because she's shoeless? Maybe it just feels WAY nastier to her than it does to the other two.
