Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Both my parents always said there were times when they might have acted far different if they hadn't know they were "stuck" with one another. ;-) As it was, they worked through problems, and got closer as a result.

She invited us Precious!
Said there was more than one homeschooled young Christian lady with anime and computer geeky tendencies. I could not resist that!

Looks like the happy-married folks took over that thread.

Found it! The first post by either of us directed at the other.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1100305/posts?page=18#18
What followed was an exchange of about 7 posts intermixed on that thread followed by a rather strange freepmail from me, followed by about 2 or 3 mail exchanges then pointing out the hobbit hole to me.

Whoa! I was just looking at the local weather. They're expecting some gusts up to 60mph today. I think we had a couple of them just a little while ago. It's almost 60 degrees out there!

That was a little odd back then but it all worked out happily so who's going to laugh at us now?
Oh, great, class time. I hope this goes well.

You know, I've had trouble with my city water for a long time...it would be absolutely brown, you know? And then I'd get these notices in the mail about how it failed standards?
So we started drinking bottled water, making coffee with it and such, but I still made ice cubes out of tap water. (Or rather Matthew did...I pay him 25 cents per 3 ice trays.)
Until the day I turned on the tap in the tub and *black* water poured out. Black as night. You could scoop the black up off the bottom of the tub. Then I started making ice with (Walmart) bottled water too.
Well, then Steve got me a water crock from Christmas and I started buying our water from this place called "Water on the Run"...a water treatment and filtering store. I get the water for 27 cents a gallon there, in my own 5 gallon bottles.
Ok...so Matthew started making ice and it started forming "Ice Spikes"! Freaked me out at first but then I found that this isn't that unusual with "bottled" water...
Ice Spikes
I'm basically assured that I'm getting what I'm paying for from the water filtering store...the ice wouldn't behave this way if they were just selling me plain tap water.
My Walmart bottled water *never* formed ice spikes...

I'm a little alarmed that your water coming from the tap is brown or black in the first place.

I'd like to have Walmart's water analyzed...for 70 cents a gallon, it should be pristine! Raises doubts in my mind now that I know about ice spikes.
