She has your number, right? She'd probably call if lost.
Hmm, I think it's dinner time.
She's back! Thinks it went OK - I'll let her tell the details :~D
How about your interview Rose? How'd yours go?
Good evening! Glad to hear Rosie's interview went well!
I *think* it went OK, but it's always hard to tell. I met with two guys, which is about half the team, as I gather. They work both as computer support for the center (though I think they're not the official IT for the place) and (primarily) doing setup and tech support for their own software, which is a web-based application for doing medical records and such. It's Domino based, and I think they would have been happier if I'd had more Domino experience (other than the pizza kind...) On the other hand, they seemed fairly impressed with the rest of my knowledge, and the fact that I had a Secret clearance in the Air Force was a bonus to them since privacy act stuff requires similar precautions.
The pay won't be fantastic for starters, but on the other hand, that may be a sign that they do expect to have to do a good bit of training. So...there's that.
I guess a lot will depend on my competition. Again, I *think* it went pretty well, but who knows for sure?
Didn't get lost on the way there, though I did hafta do a scary bit where you have to get across a buncha lanes of traffic in a very space to get to the correct left turn lane, and when I got back on the interstate afterwards, the rush hour traffic took me by surprise for a minute - had to slam on my brakes hard once when I realized traffic wasn't moving at a normal pace. And I went the wrong way for a bit when I got off here...grr. But I'm learning.
If all goes well, I'm gonna go visit my brother, sister-in-law and niece tonight. Have to go to *town*. Eek!
Prayers'll be going up at 11am EST for ya!
Well, good! When will you hear back?
Sounds like the job holds promise!
And you're ending the day on a high note, seeing your family. :-)
They said most likely it wouldn't be until week after next, since one guy was going to be out next week. At least, that's what he said at first. As I was leaving, he said it might be next week, since he'd have a computer with him.
I'm *hoping* that's a sign that they liked me, rather than just a rethinking of the question. ;-)
Yeah...though right now I'm dreading the drive and all more than I'm looking forward to seeing them. Sad, I realize.
I really, reallllly don't like navigating in unfamiliar towns. Especially BIG unfamiliar towns.
Did you ever hear from the chair person?
It's not everyone who likes driving on new roads, Rosie. (I'm one of those that doesn't like it too much.)
This will one day be a very well-traveled route for ya though, so might as well get to learning it, right? *grin*
Just think how happy they'll be to see you!
And how happy you'll be to see them. :-)
You drove all the way from Colorado on new roads, chica. This is a snap!
Those new roads didn't have four or five lanes and lotsa traffic. :-\
Guess it's good for me.
I didn't say it would be fun. hehehehe...
Nope, never heard from the chair person at all. I'm thinking about relisting it myself sometime next week.
LOST is coming on in a minute here. Back later.
Glad it went well.
Soooooo.....how is the cat dynamic working out?
