I *think* it went OK, but it's always hard to tell. I met with two guys, which is about half the team, as I gather. They work both as computer support for the center (though I think they're not the official IT for the place) and (primarily) doing setup and tech support for their own software, which is a web-based application for doing medical records and such. It's Domino based, and I think they would have been happier if I'd had more Domino experience (other than the pizza kind...) On the other hand, they seemed fairly impressed with the rest of my knowledge, and the fact that I had a Secret clearance in the Air Force was a bonus to them since privacy act stuff requires similar precautions.
The pay won't be fantastic for starters, but on the other hand, that may be a sign that they do expect to have to do a good bit of training. So...there's that.
I guess a lot will depend on my competition. Again, I *think* it went pretty well, but who knows for sure?
Didn't get lost on the way there, though I did hafta do a scary bit where you have to get across a buncha lanes of traffic in a very space to get to the correct left turn lane, and when I got back on the interstate afterwards, the rush hour traffic took me by surprise for a minute - had to slam on my brakes hard once when I realized traffic wasn't moving at a normal pace. And I went the wrong way for a bit when I got off here...grr. But I'm learning.
If all goes well, I'm gonna go visit my brother, sister-in-law and niece tonight. Have to go to *town*. Eek!
Well, good! When will you hear back?
Sounds like the job holds promise!
And you're ending the day on a high note, seeing your family. :-)
Glad it went well.
Check in when you get home!
