Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It really does work! I've used it ever since I was a kid, and mom dragged me to the doctor 'cause my nose would bleed every winter. He shrugged and told her what to do, no problems since.

I thought A & D ointment WAS butt-balm!

Unfortunately no.
It's going to be difficult enough to coordinate this move with worrying whether I can keep them between 70-80 degrees F with an equal level of humidity. :-/
My sister will keep my Betta fish.
The hermies will go to her as well, unless she changes her mind. Then I'd go through hermie adoption groups here in FL - just to be sure they'd be taken care of.

I'm guessing they're not a popular pet (or at least not very common) in Washington. But you could get another Betta. Or a pet salmon. ;-)
With thenewfloor and our new office configuration, I've ~almost~ figgered out a spot for an aquarium.
To: Corin Stormhands
I'll get around to a pet MUCH later. Just isn't fair to bring one into the initial chaos of the move.
Besides, I can always visit Hair when I'm feeling pet-lonely. Homer makes an excellent lap blanket. :-D
You're getting a salt water tank, you said?

The cover of the Syracuse catalogue when she was looking for a college showed a bunch of kids studying near a window, with eveything outside buried in snow measured in feet...this could have been an indication of what winter was going to be like there!
Naples is a beautiful little city.

I ~want~ a salt water tank.
Unfortunately, my wants/needs are at number 5 on the Stormhands Household wants list. That's not necessarily a whine, but a statement of fact.
Although, last night when the wife called me on my second (of three) trips across the river to transport Jr. and asked me to get some fine sandpaper for Nana's dentures (she over-adhesived them), I walked thru Walmart saying "they really don't deserve me."

But you'll have a smashingly gorgeous crown in glory! ;-)

Given my attitude sometimes, I'm not sure I'm in the running for a crown. ;-)

I'm going off com. I'll be on my cell. ;-)
(my Mom's coming to visit tonight, so I may not be back online)

Hehehe....sometimes I hear cat slurping in the middle of the night.

Heh. Well she's got her own recirculating water fountain.

And I've caught her sipping out of that little indoor fountain I've got rigged up in TheSunroom.
