The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just a note: grabbing a sword by the blade is not recommended.

You'd think an Elf would know better. I guess vanity overrides common sense. ;-)

Oh nuts. :-/

There's always tomorrow though! Hope they're still open when I get there so I can do my part in defying the ban. *grin*

Uh oh....hope the paint doesn't clash with her fur.

Miss Cat is pretty good when I'm painting. The worst she's done is brush up against the walls when the paint was still wet. She had green ticking in her fur.

Is your new floor a glue down, nail down, uni-clic or floating floor?

Hey... well... all fed now. Watched a little bit of the Lympics.... pairs skating on CBC.

The Russians are gonna take the gold, no doubt about it. They're really, really good.

We had bought some wood laminate Uni-clic flooring for the kitchen a few years ago. Never put it in though because we started thinking about the addition.

Howdy! I saw a Jeep Commander in the parking lot of the grocery store the other day. That's a FINE ride!! Looked a little like a small Hummer because of the boxy-ness of it.

Heh... I've heard that from several people, that it looks sorta like the H3. It does have that same boxy 90-degree angle thing going on.

:-)

I'm really liking it. It's just darn comfortable to drive.

True enough, the Chinese fella with blown Achilles tendon did well, too bad his partner fell.

CBC sure does a nice job of presenting the Olympics. A few quibbles, but way better than the big three ever do. The CBC at least doesn't try to make the story about themselves.

We were discussing the whole kerfuffle about the Mohammed cartoons today, and SirKit said that Christians would never get that upset because they'd just laugh at most of the stuff folks could come up with. The perfect example is something I found as a link from Cafe Press. It's the Jesus Dance, done to the tune of "Plastic Jesus". It is just hilarious, especially the square dancing Jesus, and it is a perfect example of what SirKit was talking about! Turn your sound down a little bit first, though, it's kinda loud.

I missed the earlier reference to CBC; Bet they weren't nuetral when the Canadian Freestyle skier won the gold :-)

Chinese skaters did good overall, specially in standings so far..but the night is young.
