Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well I met her out at Murphy's restaurant
She said she was fresh from the farm
And I remember thinkin' for a country girl
That she went pretty well armed
We sat there talkin' by the lobster tank
I ordered her a slow gin fizz
And when them chicken fried steaks arrived
She said "I like living like this."
So I made her the queen of my double wide trailer
With the polyester curtains and the redwood deck
Sometimes she runs off and I've got to trail her
Dang her black heart and her pretty red neck
Well a few nights later I run into her
With some stranger on a park bench
She said he rebuilds engines and his name is Earl
He's the Charlie Daniels of the torque wrench
I whispered "Honey let's just go on home
And have some onion rings and watch TV."
And as I walked her to the truck
Earl was cryin' "Don't you leave me!"
I told him...
"This is the queen of my double wide trailer
With the polyester curtains and the redwood deck
Sometimes shes runs and I've got to trail her
Dang her black heart and her pretty red neck."

I just realized I'm stopping by Walmart on the way home and there's a winter storm warning. What was I thinking?Heh, I stopped at the grocery store after picking up Joseph and getting the van gassed up. There were lots of folks, but I know it will be worse in the morning! There were quite a few folks in the likker store too! Hey, if you're stuck in the house... I got three different bottles of Chilean Sauv. Blanc to see which I like the best, and a couple of bottles of Reisling for SirKit.
Joseph can bring in some firewood in the morning, and we'll be good to go! ;o)
In the morning, Clare and I are helping the Town Unit unload Girl Scout cookies for the different troops to collect. Glad the snow is holding off til the afternoon!

I figure if nothing else, some folks who are in between the Tacoma/Olympia area and Seattle may jump for Microsoft jobs and leave stuff behind fer me. ;-)
I've been applying for jobs this week...hopefully I hear back on some right around the time I get there. *fingers crossed*
I probably should redo my resume for each application. *sigh* It's a pain in the butt, though.

Evenin'. Well I made it. The week is done. I'm at my favorite place in the whole wide world - home. Home with my sweetie (who took me out to dinner so I didn't have to cook.) We catching up on some TiVo and then we'll watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
Big'ol has already put *all* of the hockey games on the TiVo... hehhehee

Well, you can be 'close to' civilization without being right smack dab IN it!

They are, left to right: Johnny (Human Torch) Storm, Ben (The Thing) Grimm, Sue (Invisible Woman) Storm, and Reed (Mr. Fantastic) Richards.
Sue has two powers: she can turn invisible, and also generate invisible force fields.

Most excellent, Rosie!
Everything's coming together. :-)
