The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The ones we had were definitely alyssum, but phlox is awfully pretty, too!

Here I go again...

What an excellent idea. :-D

Don't think it would stop them completely, but maybe a one-day delay. (Which is all I really hope for at this point.)

Looking at pictures of both phlox and alyssum online, I think I might have both! I know I have the Emerald Blue Phlox, cause it's a low grower, and I think I might have some white alyssum as well.

Eek! Let's hope not!

Though...considering how Tam's been acting up lately, maybe having a few "this could happen to you" photos would be handy.

He's probably forgotten all about getting tutored himself...

I'm just so glad he's tutored - because if he weren't, he'd be really bad.

Mornin', hon.

Wading thru the backlog of paperwork, I'm finding a lot of stuff was taken care of for me.

So it may not be as bad catching up as I initially thought it would. Yippee!

I wonder how much trouble we'd get in if I draped a sleeping bag over the balcony. Not supposed to do that, right?

It's been stuffed in the closet, and I'd like to air it out a bit before packing it again.

Hey... that's good. Around here I'm not sure anyone even noticed I was gone. :-P

I think I'll go develop a new TPS cover sheet. They'll like that.

Indeed poor kitties...

I also brought up a weird thing on Pippin I want looked at. I don't think we got around to talking about it when you were here... He has a bony protrusion right at the end of his ribcage that moves around, sometimes flips so it's pointing straight out, sometimes back inside and you can't feel it. It doesn't seem to bother him when it moves around but it's really weird.
