The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Mornin'!

Well...just this week to go, if everything goes smoothly! By this time next week I hope to be in Utah, maybe in Idaho.

Maybe the cable and electric people have a rivalry and refuse to do anything to help one another...

I liked the book "Ya Ya Sisterhood" much better than the movie. The movie was fine, it just missed a lot of the tension and drama of the book.

Heh...just hoping it doesn't become The Great Northwest Catastrophe somewhere along the route...

And I really wish the furniture would sell. *fret*

OK - good! I was just gonna ask you what your plans are! This week looks like great weather here, if that tracks all the way to the Rockies, it might be a good time to go!

Have you tried the power company again? I've got the locksmith number from the landlord, and I'm calling this morning.

Was it actually cut off or was the tree already broken at that length? If it was not much bigger than the other cables might have caught only slightly and then pulled free as it went down. That or aliens came and placed it on just that wire so they could cut service to the person they wanted to abduct.

It fell from the other side of the road, it was cut off the road but left on the cable.

Planning to call the power company today. And so far I'm thinking I'll leave early Sunday and hopefully get in Monday evening or Tuesday morning, but we'll see how this week goes.

I may bug you later this week about mailing some of the book boxes. I figure if I mail them at the last minute, I'll be there when they get there and can take 'em over to stack somewhere.

Aliens cutting off cable service? Weird...

Got to go track someone down and shoot him now. No, wait, I have to track him down and work with him. That's much harder.

I thought aliens had devices that rendered all electrical devices within x number of miles inoperable. Why would they bother with cables? Duh.
