The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...I found a site with a bunch of the old Engrish captioned TTT stills. Forgotten how funny some of 'em were.

PE pinged me to a megachurch thread a bit ago. I shoulda pinged you to my response. I think I told you at one time that I grew up in Asbury UMC. I visited their website out of curiosity the other day... my beeber is stuned, I say!

I had no idea they had changed so much. WOW! 25-20 years ago they were large, but nothing like they are today. The website says their 11 pastors support almost 7,000 members. They have 28 discipleship groups.

I am just astounded at the change. The pastor emeritus baptized me and confirmed me (and he was old then). Their discipleship minister was my jr high youth leader. Everyone else is new except for the secretary.

Today is Joseph's 16th birthday! Wow! It sure doesn't seem like it's been that long.

Clare and I are spending the morning selling Girl Scout Cookies, then we're going out to eat. Joseph chose the Canyon Cafe. He gots good taste. ;o)

Happy Birthday to Joseph!

"My" Joseph

continues to be 10. However, I'm keeping an eye on him.
