The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Doesn't sound good.

Especially considering I *really* don't wanna be the one to remove duct tape from Halvah. She goes psychotic if she accidentally steps on a fragment of scotch tape, so I can only imagine...

Well, they're pretty much headed here, though Ruthy may be hungry if they didn't feed her well on the plane.

I've got the roll-away bed out in the dining room and it's tall so the monsters can look right in the fish tank....

Is it wrong to leave a hazard for your kids to play with just so you can be ready with the camera?

Yeah Tweek... put your back foot up there... you'd be able to reach in to the fish tank much better! :~D

Ruthy and Ramius called from a restaurant in Tacoma... They'll be here soon :~D

Ha! I'd say "sure", so long as it isn't life threatening. ;-) It woulda been even funnier if she'd done like Pippin and the tub and fell in...though I suppose that would be less than funny to the fish.

Cats are always entertaining!

I was ->this<- close to taking a picture of bittygirl a bit ago. Alas, I don't have a clue where the camera is right now. We are studying the Vikings and I was showing karateboy how to use an interactive CD-ROM I have. IT had gotten quiet... too quiet. So I went to check on bittygirl. She had climbed up onto the couch and curled her feet underneath her bum and is taking a nap. Vey cute! She looked cold, so I covered her up.

This is something she has never done before. She has never taken the initiative to take a nap, nor has she ever taken a nap on the couch before.
