I've starting filling out applications for some of 'em. They're a pain in the rear, though less so than the CO state jobs (staff jobs at the university fit into that category). Granted, that isn't saying much...
Maybe some of whatever beer you like. I only have a half-dozen Alaskan Ambers.
Well... I like Alaskan just fine... :-) But I'll bring some in order to be somewhat less of a freeloader. :-)

oh - I forgot to update you, I've been a busy hobbit.
I went over to the store and the landlord said he did get your email and it was all good... I said "she's looking for a response from you so she knows to come" he said - "Ok you tell her..." I said "I was kinda hoping you two could communicate so it's not me in the middle" "oh - OK"
I don't know whether "oh - OK" means he will, or not. :~D
So the terms were all acceptable, though?

He said he hadn't had the locksmith out yet, that he had talked to the prior tenants and they said they'd bring a key but it'd been three days. I think he said he'd call the locksmith if they hadn't come by Friday.
I'm picturing me just calling a locksmith on my own.
Granted, there's likely to be a LOT of work to be done inside and out before doing anything like that, but with the long growing season in WA, I'm still hopeful!
Well...that's kind of a drag.
Hope it isn't an indication of how any kinda problem would be dealt with.
Heh... he may be a 'do it yourself' kind of landlord :~D
Ours is... if there's something needed that's really a landlord responsibility, like plumbing, we just pay it and deduct it from the rent.
My landlord hasn't been here since I moved here and I think I've been here 5 years at least. ecurbh hadn't met them till we saw them on a trail ride.
I've gotten a flower catalog before that had lot of layouts like that, large and small, for every conceivable situation!
Well...I guess I could live with that quite comfortably, so long as I could do the deduct thing.
Wayyyyy better than my last landlord. I can't remember if I've whined about him here or not. He would come in all the time without ever letting me know - my lock didn't work well and I could tell if someone had used a different key. And he'd leave little notes sometimes telling me I should straighten things up or that I needed to remember to turn on the heat if it got below freezing and so on and so forth. Gave me the willies.
Considering I'd have no clue where to start if I really wanted to do a garden that spanned seasons, I really like the idea!
Heh...I spent about two hours at the bookstore the other day when I'd just dropped off the van, looking at a book about a family that bought a rundown farm in Vermont and turned the entire property into one HUGH garden, so I'm feeling flower deprived. ;-) They started out with even more junk than I think I'll be dealing with - car carcasses and piles of old farm equipment and destroyed sheds and such. Of course, they also were showing how they progressed over 20 years. I don't think I'll have that luxury. But it was fascinating, just the same!
