The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I know! But the unknown is skeery.

I'm dreaming of flower gardens, though. And places to play music. And a certain baby niece!

Evenin' all. The meeting went great. The rest of the day was seriesly crummy. Seriesly. I'm trying to unwind and put it all behind me. That's the hardest part about going out in the world everyday. *sigh*

Glad the meeting went well, even if the rest of the day was crummy!

Evenin'!

Just back from a good walk. Nice out there, though the glare is always bad this time of day.

Evenin'!

Got my bag pretty much packed and clothes laid out for my trip.

Just finishing the laundry and making sure I have everything prepared for the girls before I go. It's starting to hit me, how much I'll miss them - the wee buggers.

Wow...it's here already, isn't it? I'm sure the time hasn't seemed to go nearly as fast on your end, though, eh? ;-)

I was planning to head that way a week after your visit. I'm pretty well ready to do it, but *gosh* that's soon.

What time is your flight tomorrow?

Good evening.

It's raining here.

Yay!

It seemed like the day took forever to get here. :-)

I fly out out 8am in the morning, so I have to be out of my house by 5:30am to be sure I'm at the airport by 6:00 or so.

I know we've agreed it would have more than likely complicated things, but I can't help but wish I'd planned the trip to be able to help you settle in and clean up.

Depending on when the lock gets undone, you may get to see the inside before I do!

Still haven't heard back from the landlord via e-mail. Maybe tonight.

Heh...I'd forgotten some of the other bonuses. ;-)

Also get to experience precipitation. That's all but unknown here...

Oh my...well, I'm glad your meeting went good at least!

The jedis are at church and I'm home alone.

~sip~

Steve took 'em. He just goes with 'em to the class, even though we don't go to that church. The teachers don't seem to mind...it's another adult in there anyways.

Most of the other boys are there because of "After the Bell"...a program for boys in the public school. The church picks them up after school, feeds them supper and then they attend RAs. Then the church takes them home.

They know that we homeschool our boys and I don't think they're too surprised that Steve has just decided to come to RAs with them. We're a different breed than the other parents, I guess.

The teachers are also in the same organization I'm in...disaster relief, you know? So we have something in common and we send our boys to them to actually learn about missions. The other boys (most of them) are there for child care, the hope being a kind of outreach to them...a way to relate the Gospel to them.

Lucky you! We're still under a burn ban here and the fire danger is supposed to go back way up tomorrow...high winds.

My garden is happy, though...putting on secondary leaves!
