The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

BC, my old lady cat, hopped into the dryer when she was about 1 year old. Mom put the laundry in on top of her unknowingly, and started the dryer. "Thump, ker-thump" and mom openedthe dryer to check out what on earth wasit she had put in the dryer to make that noise, and like a bullet from a gun, out shot BC. She never did that again.

Oh yeah...I can go to Wild Oats. I bet they have it.

The boys just finished school. I'm eating lunch and we're watching Princess Bride. We'll go in a bit.

Basically, I guess our weekend has begun! Woohoo!

The stuff I use is Thai Kitchen, and it comes in either red or green curry paste. I can buy it at the health food store if my local grocery store is out, although it is a little more expensive at the HFS.

Thai Kitchen...that could be the name I was trying to think of.

Now I want some...maybe next week! We do have chicken and vegetables...

My cat goes into the dryer after the clothes are already dry....nice and warm in there. 'Course then everything ends up loaded with cat fur again.

We don't have any Wild Oats or Whole Food stores close to us, but the HFS is where I can get a lot of 'unusual' ingredients. I do love their unsulphered dried papaya strips!!

I don't think that's the stuff I use but possibly the green curry would work.

I do remember it being labeled "green", although it isn't really quite green.

The lady still hasn't shown up. I'm hoping she didn't get lost. I don't think she had a cell phone, so if she really couldn't find us and didn't have a way to call, she may have turned back home.

Grrr...I just want these gone and that part of the day done with!

You may be right about it being green. I think yellow because that's the color it makes. Yellow-brown (insert crude description of what it looks like here).

Maybe she's just running late.

I s'pose. She was planning to get here by ten thirty.

*sigh* I just think it's probably my fault. Probably my directions weren't good enough. I was vague on some points, and she was coming from Greeley.

Any word? I'm sure your directions were fine - and anyway, you gave her the address, right? So she could have mapquested it.

She came by - had been lost, as I'd guessed. *sigh* I'm just not good at giving directions.

Turned out she needed a bigger vehicle, so she took the shelves and will be back around four-thirty or five to get the bookcases themselves. So...there's that.

Time for lunch, and then I get ready to head out for the interview.

Um, how does one not know the size of vehicle needed for bookshelf moving? Am I missing something?

I dunno. We coulda fit one, but not both, and though she had a roof rack, she didn't have bungie cords or anything like that. Soo...oh well.

At least they're sold. Didn't get what I wanted for them, but that's the story of my life.
