The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Pippin just fell in the bathtub with me.

Poor kitten!! And how are you doing? Bleeding much from fishing him out?

Just wish Netflix wasn't takin' so long for us right now! It's making me mad.

But we're getting two discs today, so maybe things are about to change? Dunno.

Maybe he'll learn to look before leaping. ;-)

I can remember at least one time from my childhood when someone forgot to put the lid back on the garbage pail after replacing the bag, and a cat tried to jump on top. Whoop!

And then they have to pretend like they really *meant* to do that, so as to save face.

He appears to have recovered somewhat, he's curled up with Cartman for some comfort... Cartman's grooming him now... I'm not sure if he's getting wetter or dryer.

Well, I'm off - on the road all day though I may be able to check in later from the beach house.

Heh - I didn't have to fish him out and I didn't get scratched ;~D He found propulsion he didn't know he had. He was up and out of the water and under the bed before I got out the first HAHA!
See ya later everyone :~D

Heh....when I'm at TheHouse, I have to remember to keep the lid down. Miss Emily is nearly blind and that's her path to the bathroom sink!

Ha! Yeah, I've seen that happen a few times, too. Halvah's done it before...she's inordinately fond of the bathroom sink, even though it's rare that it's left dripping.

She'll even sleep in there. Doesn't strike me as a comfy spot, but then, I'm not a cat...so what do I know?

Tam likes hiding in the tub, too. I've had him pop out and stare at me a couple times.

It's just the perfect size for a cat to curl up in.

Heh...

Right now they're both slacking off. Tam is laying by the sliding glass door staring out, and Halvah's sitting on a box behind and above him, also staring out. Stair step cats. Cute.

Yeah, but it's cold and usually damp, and there's a faucet that'll bump 'em in the noggin if they aren't careful.

But then, Halvah makes a lot of odd sleeping place choices. Like, for example, she doesn't really like to just sleep on the carpet, but if a paper bag gets left out, she'll sleep on that quite happily. Even if it's one too small for her to fit on it entirely. Looks silly.

Are they still taking turns watching you? They know something's up.

She's just trying out different sleeping options.

They're not paying attention at the moment. I should make a break for it...

Talked to Margaret this morning, by the way. She's hoping the new violin sells quickly...and though she wants to sell it on her own, she's going to let her instructor put it up on his site, too. So there's that.

And after a zillion rejected applications over the past many months, I just got a call for an interview at the hospital. Figgers. I'm gonna do it, of course - can't hurt anything either way.

So if Margaret sells the violin quick, she might be up for an adventure?
