The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Are you feeling any better now than you were last week?

Corin - I know you're not here but just so you know, I still have the Christmas DVD. I meant to ship it to XGI last week, but got sidetracked.

XGI - can I take it with me on my trip and send it to you when I get back?

Very cute and intimidating looking. I wonder if the scope detaches easily, or re attaches without having to sight in all over again?

Picatinny mounts usually have a throw-lever or large nut on the left side. The scopes come off an on easily, and if put back in the same slot (pushed forward to contact the cross-rail, so the recoil is transmitted properly), are usually good for under 1 MOA repeatiblity. Not good enough for a sniper rifle, but handy for just about any other use.

I woke up with a headache this morning, which is vey unusual for me. I took a couple of Advil and am fixing to get my second cup of coffee. I was able to sleep in because Joseph had a snow day off school. Clare was up vey early because she had konked out around 8pm last night. She said it started snowing with just a dusting at about 6am. Joseph came in our room about 7 letting me know that he'd seen the e-mail alert in my inbox letting us know of the school closing, so I went on back to sleep and didn't get up until almost 9:30. By that time we had over 5" of snow! It's still coming down fast. It's dropping straight down just like rain, and about that heavy! The predicitions were for between 4 and 7", but we're almost there now, and it's supposed to continue snowing until late afternoon.

Clare was supposed to have her first English class at the Comm. College this afternoon, but that school is closed, too. So we gots us a lazy day here.

I feel about as bad as I felt Friday, but not near as bad as I felt on Saturday and Sunday. Friday night, I got REALLY sick and was up all night in misery and then Saturday was more of the same. Sunday I felt awful, but after breakfast I took two Advils and laid down on the couch and Matthew laid down with me and I got warm and fell asleep. When I woke up, I felt so much better and I told Matthew it was because he warmed me up. He said "You weren't cold...you were like a heating pad you were so warm!"

But after that I didn't feel so bad again. Friday night and Saturday were the worst.

Ungh...I have a headache, too. Developed about halfway through the concert last night (which was ridiculously awesome, by the way), and didn't quite go away overnight. Feel like someone has the left side of my head in a vise.

I'm taking some Goody's. Nasty stuff, but it does usually do the trick! The best things I ever found for headaches were Excedrin Quick Tabs - they dissolved in your mouth. They came out a few years ago and I bought up a bunch at first 'cause they were on-sale as a new item.

I can't find them anywhere now. I don't know if it's just that I was the only one who bought 'em or what. But it's a bummer.

Woohooo! It's a snow day! I always make hot chocolate for the jedis on snow days! They still have to do school though. Ha ha!

Blech. Sounds like a nasty bug, alright.

But it did provide a nice snuggle. :-D

I also have a headache. But I can blame mine on the bored meeting this morning. Ung.

I have a headache too. But that's because it's Monday.

Ugh. I hope I wake up before classes.

Worst thing about migraines is that I might as well be about half drunk for the way my brain works while I've got one. I've written words backwards during a headache. Took me twice as long as usual to write just this post since I had to retype almost everything.

Gonna go lie down for a bit...the pain stuff didn't work that well and I can't take more until one.

Uh, no, that didn't help, actually. But my head's feeling some better.... probably just from the fresh air between classes.

Yeah, I'm fixing to go lay down, too. Almost fell asleep at the keyboard, but when I jolted awake, the head pain had diminished, so maybe a nap will help.
