Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I never saw a purple screen of death. I'm envious.
I just got a "Cannot be found" screen. *pouts*

Box Mission...Quest...Thing semi-successful. They're gonna save a bunch for me. I hate delayed gratification, but it's better than failure. ;-)
To: RosieCotton
Was it the screen that said "What were you trying to do?"
Then it had a short paragraph containing links to News/Activism, etc?
That's the one I'm talking about. It was a lavender-type color on my monitor.

I never got that...just a "Page cannot be displayed" sort of dealie - an IE error, not an FR page.
I guess I'm not special enough...
To: RosieCotton; RMDupree
Hey, I don't get nice calming lavender errors either...
I only get the one with the spikey things in my shoes and the electric shocks in my fingertips. Dang... I hate that one.

You too? Man...where did we go wrong?
In other news...there appears to be another one of *those* threads starting up. *sigh*
You know...the ones where-in any unmarried woman over 25 should really off herself, 'cause she's of no use to society any more, *and* an eyesore.
To: RosieCotton
Bah. Ignore them, Rosie.
I'm ~so~ tempted to just start posting this to the women-haters.

I just got in...
Right after my last post, Joshua got up, coughing, cheeks very red. I took his temp and it was 102.
So I took him to the doctor. He's piled up on the couch now, resting.

Just a virus or something, I hope?
To: RMDupree
The double standard just bugs me...if I guy doesn't chance to settle down in his twenties, everyone slaps him on the back for any conquests and all.
On the flipside, if a woman who truly desires marriage just doesn't have the opportunity to meet the right person in her early twenties, it's obviously her fault 'cause she's a selfish feminazi in her heart, and now she deserves scorn and ridicule for being too choosy and career-focused.
I guess at this point, I'm starting to think maybe I'm just not meant to be married, so I shouldn't take the jibes personally. But you know how it is.
To: RosieCotton
Make that "a guy". Not "I guy".
It's the new iGuy! He does your surfing for you - and stores your music files and movies for easy access! Now comes in ice blue, charcoal, and white, to match any decor!
To: RosieCotton
That's what I think, but the doc put him on anibiotics anyway...with all this fluid (nose, ears, chest), it's probably a good thing because the fluid caused by the virus is a good breeding ground for bacteria.
Matthew feels under the weather too. So do I. We've cried uncle as far as school goes for this week...we'll start fresh next week.
I bought one of those nifty ear thermometers at the drug store and that just tickles Joshua to death. Also, I bought him another tube of lip balm and he's a completely happy camper.

Hope you all feel better soon!
Chai all 'round! ;-)

Rosie, some of the guys on the "I hate marriage" threads are just down right scary. No sane woman would want them under ~any~ circumstances, so please don't let 'em yank your chain.
To: RosieCotton
Oh good plan!
I'm making chicken and rice soup right now.

I make this soup with Tone's Chicken Base. I tell ya, it's so easy! 1 tsp of base per cup of water and it makes a heartier broth than canned. I made 3 cups and then put some pre-made rice in.
It's soothing.
