The double standard just bugs me...if I guy doesn't chance to settle down in his twenties, everyone slaps him on the back for any conquests and all.
On the flipside, if a woman who truly desires marriage just doesn't have the opportunity to meet the right person in her early twenties, it's obviously her fault 'cause she's a selfish feminazi in her heart, and now she deserves scorn and ridicule for being too choosy and career-focused.
I guess at this point, I'm starting to think maybe I'm just not meant to be married, so I shouldn't take the jibes personally. But you know how it is.

Make that "a guy". Not "I guy".
It's the new iGuy! He does your surfing for you - and stores your music files and movies for easy access! Now comes in ice blue, charcoal, and white, to match any decor!

Rosie, some of the guys on the "I hate marriage" threads are just down right scary. No sane woman would want them under ~any~ circumstances, so please don't let 'em yank your chain.

There is definitely a double-standard, but those attitudes are going the way of the dinosaurs.
A woman who won't get married just for the sake of getting married is to be admired. And the guy that ~does~ win her affections has reason to be proud. He wasn't the one she "settled for" - he was the one she was waiting for.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, it is far better to be alone than to be with the wrong person.
Life seriously sucks worse when you're with someone who thinks they're doing ~you~ a favor by being with you.
