This is going to be less than pretty, but someone had to do it.
Yesterday's Steeler/Indy game was .............. well, you fill that in.
I'm a Steeler fan of 55 years or so, and the game yesterday was, to say the least, quite bizarre --- as the concept of "a football move" brought back visions of Elroy 'Crazy Legs' Hirsh. The LIVE THREAD yesterday including this incredible game was as lively as the game itself. This morning I gathered some of your comments on the Troy Polamalu interception.
Let's be honest............. he caught the damn ball and the refs blew the call. But FReepers' humor and insights were pretty darn funny as all this was happening. I'm a crappy typist, so this may be a quite ugly presentation. I am just going to present some of the posts from all of you who were transfixed by yesterday's game and the bizarre officiating. It all was unreal, and your comments were fabulous.
Yoi!

After further review, and a review of security provisions, we reverse the call.

CBS considers the money slipped to the refs to make that reversal the best investment it could make. 715 posted on 01/15/2006 3:56:15 PM EST by steveegg

I'm a Colts fan, and that INT call was horrible. Seemed like TV wanted an interesting finish.

Hmmmmmm........ looks like the NFL doesn't agree with you.
See post # 252 or read any good sports page.
Yep and this screwup wouldnt have happened if they would have admitted their mistake a week earlier in the Tampa/Redskins game. Thats what happened, Parerra's ecxplanation of the Tampa
TD incomplete is what caused this whole mess. When I saw the play at first before it went to slow motion I thought it was a interception then a fumble, but after slow motion and applying
Pareeras explanation from the week prior, I knew the ref was going to say incomplete. They need to change the way replay is done it shouldnt be done by a ref on the field looking into a little box, it should be done either up in the box, or back at
headquarters, with the head official signing off on all calls.
With the technology we have these days this could be done.
Good idea.
It was all so crazy...................... how's this?:

I cant take the heavy duty, heart pounding drama again this coming Sunday. Last weeks game in Indy was just too hard to take......... almost killed a lot of us. So here's a possible solution.
About 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning before the Denver game, Im going to call my buddy in Sydney, Australia. It will be 1:00 a.m. Monday there, he will already know how the game came out ................ voila, he can tell me who won. Save a lot of heart attacks. What do you think?
;-)
Sounds good. I hope he can tell us the results before the betting pools close. ;) I think I heard on the news for a lead in story that someone may have actually had a heart attack when Jerome fumbled. I didn't watch the story though, so I don't know for sure.

I flew into LAX on 12/24/05 and immediately hightailed it to Gabe's Bar and Grill (2965 S. Sepulveda) in time for the opening kickoff against the Browns.
Gabe's is listed as among the Steeler Nation bars around the country that have become congregation points for Steeler fans (most of whom are decked out in team jerseys) who are there to view the Gold & Black games on big screen TV.
IMO, it is more fun watching the game with like-minded fans in a bar than being in the stands.
BTW, Gabe's has dropped their grill, and they don't serve draft beer. But it has a great Steeler vibe.
That's attendance, not sales.
ALL of those games were sold out.
Bold ALLCAPS do not in themselves make anything more true. Do you know the difference between buying a ticket and going to the game?
When talking about sellouts, attendance is irrelevant. In the extreme, if no one at all shows up, but all tickets are sold, it's still a sellout.
Source link?
I want to know what authoritative source uses such poor spelling.
Oh here comes mainedork to LIE LIE LIE his life away. Hey have you fopund any proof at all to your claim that the Steelers have a history of cheap play? Didn't think so, go away lying jackass, nobody likes you, you can't be believes and shouldn't be listened to.
Do you think maineboy went with the Jake Plummer Bronco game jersey or maybe the Champ Bailey jersey?
love...............

As they say about some folks on the left side of politics, It's not the things they honestly don't know that is troubling, it is instead those things that they do "know," that are also entirely untrue, that is the problem.

BTW. I have no idea where you got your information, but Three Rivers Stadium didn't exist in 1968 --- The Steelers played in Pitt Stadium then. Their 1st game at Three Rivers was in 1970 with a raw rookie named Bradshaw sharing QB duties with a hometown favorite out of Notre Dame named Terry Hanratty --- I was there.
I bought my season tickets (2) in 1971. Guess what they cost then?
$7.15 per game, $50 for all seven regular season games!!! (They didn't even make you buy pre-season tickets then.)
Things sure have changed.
