Someone said once that after WW II when folks were aching to start families, and children were still considered an asset, voluptuous women were in vogue.
In proportion as the family and children have become devalued, so have voluptuous women.
"Gravity" used to mean something more akin to gravitas.
Now it's just a term to mock women.

Actually gravity can be applied to anything that once stood up which now sits down.

My favorite word for voluptuous is "zaftig". I apply it often to my wife and my four gorgeous daughters.
