I know many love the Gherkin, but as soon as I read the part about them being not nice people behind the camera I thought of her for some reason.


We may have found Brenna's one redeeming quality- she's not putting on any airs like the rest. WYSIWYG with her apparently and is not true of many of them if we are to take Simon at his word.

Hi! The thread looked fun last night. :) I got home and watched my tape and the 2 of the ones that left deserved to. However, I still think Brenna and Sway or the first young boy should have been the other 2 that went next. Although Stevie and Patrick were forgettable, they at least had singing ability. Oh well..
This morning on the Rick and Bubba show they talked about the AI show and how stupid it is to make the worse singers sing the songs that made them lose. They said the producers should let them know who had the most votes for that week and let those 2 sing and show the others what they need to do the next week. I AGREE! It might make the competition a little more competitive and step up the show. Get everyone out of their comfort zone. Also, many listeners to Rick and Bubba must read this thread because when they call in they called Elliot the elf and the one boy Chicken Little. :) Rick also said he wished Paula would just go ahead and tongue kiss Ace because it was obvious she wanted to and Bubba said yeah, but does Ace really want that? LOL They all started laughing then. :)

Yeah, I guess so. But, I hate listening to the people sing the song again that was so bad to begin with and then watch them fight to keep from tearing up. I always feel so bad for them. I probably won't feel bad for Brenna though. :) She irritates me.

I did some lurking over at the AI.com boards to see what people were talking about. It's all Taylor is fabulous and Brenna is the devil. Very little about Ace. Here are some of the funnier posts:

I don't know if it's me or the wild weather we're having in New York but watching that creep Brenna sing makes my skin crawl. What she needs to know first off is that she's ugly, when she smiles she looks like satan having a seizure,the fact that she becomes combative and argumentive when criticized just proves to me how childish and ignorant she is. I have seen her perform twice and both times I had to mute the t.v. so I wouldn't have to watch her ugly satanic mouth! Brenna should've been voted off yesterday along with copa cabana boy. If a person knows they're ugly, and their attitude is ugly, the very least they should do is try to be psuedo nice. I'm giving that loser Brenna until next week to be Kicked off (preferably literally) American Idol........

Unfortunately, we can't divide people up into conservatives and jerks (wouldn't the world be easier if we could? LOL!). She's already been caught in a fib about not knowing how to read sheet music and sing with accompaniment.

I don't dislike her, but I am leery of her. Something seems off.

Something interesting for everyone in this board to consider. Go to eBay, on the search text, type “TAYLOR HICKS CD”, you’ll see an amazing number of sales ( CAUTION : some are copies ). The astonishing thing is this —- PEOPLE ARE BIDDING AS HIGH AS $56 for his “Under the Radar” CD. The CD only has 7 songs !!

Don't even bother to buy the CD from some retail outlet. It's sold out and the company marketing it is working overtime to bring more out. This of course is a self-produced CD.

Unfreakin’ believable how much people are taking to this man. And to think that he only has about 15 minutes of TV time !

Remember his shout out to the SOUL PATROL ( which had even Ryan Seacrest shoutign with him ?), that's the self proclaimed fan club of Taylor Hicks which has members from all over the world including the Philippines, UK, Mexico and even Canada.

Having listened to his CD, I have become a fan. I'm just torn between voting for him and not. I hope he gets to say, 6th place and then leaves before he gets swalloed by the ridiculous theme nights ( e.g. DISCO) that is sure to come.

I can't stand the thought of him winning this competition and then being locked in to 19 Entertainment's restrictive and uncreative manufactured pop schtick. I want him to create and just be himself instead of going too "commercial". He's got too much BLUES and originality in him that needs to be let out and I don't think Clive Davis can give us that kind of an album.

As an addendum, I note with pleasure, Simon actually saying to Taylor Hicks after he sang LEVON -- "I WAS WRONG" ( for being a naysayer in the beginning ). Love him or hate him, it takes a lot of guts to eat crow in front of 30 million people.

And I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but the one thing about Kevin/Chicken Little, that bothers me too much, is the lisp he has when he sings. It's really annoying and takes away from his singing, imo.

Eliott Yamin is the perfect example of the saying — DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.

He has a refreshing motown sound that’s very radio friendly, it’s pure, clear and vibrant. I mean he handled the tempo changes, stops and starts to Stevie Wonder's song "IF YOU REALLY LOVE ME", effortlessly and gave it some of his own flair. Now that's definitely NOT karaoke in my book.

His looks reminds me of the Faun, Mr. Tumnus of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ( you know, the Chronicles of Narnia ). He needs a dental makeover but it would be a big mistake to do that.

If Taylor’s white hair is what distinghishes him, Eliott’s dentures will be the one that makes him stand out in the face of the pretty boys and girls.

He is one smart guy for toning down Simon's effusive praise when he said he has one of the best voices in 5 idol competitions. Eliott added the word -- POTENTIALLY -- which makes him look humble. Definitely a plus in this competition.

Can anyone tell me what ethnicity the family name -- YAMIN is ? Sounds Semitic to me.

Teeth smiles all the time, but not in his eyes. You know how people smile with their eyes too? He doesn't, watch next time, it's quite remarkable. I think he is the devil.

WOW....This new kid starting working at our company....right out of college....and he is always SMILING.....I say the same thing about him. He's the devil. I had him pegged before anyone. I have seen him go 'off' on emails....I mean NUTSO OFF.....for stupid reasons. People that smile all the time are hiding big things......but fool alot of people.
