I had favorites for Daughtry to do as well ("Live", 3Doors Down, Nickleback-type stuff)...

until the last couple of weeks. Who'd have ever thought of hearing a Cash song done that way? And I bet you money the man in black would have loved it.

I'd be afraid to pick for him. Sheesh. He's the man to beat.

Yes Bo did a good job with Heaven. Don't know if that is a song I want to see Taylor do though.

I'll keep an eye out for it

Just as I saw your post, Jonny, 'Pretty Woman' started. I absolutely LOVE this version because of the long guitar riff.

"Bo Bice did "Heaven" last year. He was great"

I forgot about that. Good call.

Maybe Taylor could run through some of Van Morrison's more recent catalogue, like "Stranded" or "Hey Mr DJ"

How about U2's "Vertigo"--It's mainstream rock, but if Chris could do it justice he might tear the roof off the place :o

I am having a hard time picking anything for Taylor...this might be a hard night for him.

That would be a good one! Taylor though is hard to think of songs for.

I have Green Day's first CD...but I just can't bring myself to buy anything with "American Idiot" on it.

These days I don't buy whole CD's any more. I set up a bank account in which I keep just a couple of hundred dollars expressly for the purpose of buying stuff online. I now buy songs individually online. That's how I acquired 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' and 'Wake Me Up When September Ends.' Never did by the album for the same reason you won't.

Agreed - Hicks may have to find a good recent country hit and blues it up. Daughtry should own the night and further cement his frontrunner status. We shall see...

Would be great if he would step out of alternative rock, but Simon stupidly reinforced Chris' tendency to stay in that genre.

Taylor might do well with a Dave Matthews song.

Taylor though is hard to think of songs for.

Maybe something R&B, but you're right--choosing for him is tough.

My son also suggests Ace do "My Paper Heart" by All-American Rejects.

He says Hicks might also be able to do "Beverly Hills" by Weezer.

LOL! Because you mentioned it, I just went over to music.msn.com and bought 'Vertigo.'

Agreed - Hicks may have to find a good recent country hit and blues it up.

If he goes that route, he should consider doing Keith Urban's smash hit 'Making Memories of Us' if he wants to do a ballad. Or if he wants an up-tempo song, he should consider 'Gone' by Montgomery Gentry. That one is a great rockin' tune.

I like both 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' and 'Wake Me Up When September Ends,' but neither are alternative rock enough for Chris.

He'll force them to fit, anyway! :0

What about "Helena" by My Chemical Romance or "Dance, Dance" by Fall Out Boy?

Just ask him. He's had trouble choosing lately.

I would love to see Chris step out of his comfort zone just once.

No kidding. I would rather sit through a marathon of "Pokemon, the Movie" before I would have to subject myself to that.

Wait a minute... OK maybe not a marathon...I need to get that thought out of my head or I will be having nightmares. Seeing that movie once was bad enough. UGH.

Q. Why did the chicken cross the road?

A. Because he was booted off IDOL.

OK, I will leave our little fine-feathered friend alone now. I will probably actually miss the little twerp--in a I-sorta-like-to-irritate-my-canker-sore- kinda way.

Goodnight.
