The singer said he is currently working on his solo debut and also has a development deal with ABC for a sitcom.

Pfft. I'll believe it when I see it, Lt. Dan :)

Jonny, a bit of Lt. Dan news for you:

Former American Idol Constantine Breaks with Band

Former American Idol favorite Constantine Maroulis has split from his band, Pray for the Soul of Betty, the singer tells PEOPLE.

"We've been through so much together, from RENT to American Idol, says Maroulis. With all of my solo projects speeding up, we just felt it was time to move on."

Maroulis, 30, has started work on a solo album and has a development deal to star in an ABC sitcom.

Before he leapt to fame on Idol last year, the singer toured with Rent in 2003 and fronted hard-rockers Pray for the Soul of Betty.

His turn on the reality competition boosted the group's profile and led to increased sales of their self-titled CD, though not enough to make them multi-platinum-selling stars.

Maroulis, who finished sixth on Idol, told PEOPLE last year that not winning the competition was the "best thing that's ever happened to me. I'm not cursed with that stigma of being the American Idol."

one Brit that I call Peter who came to me with the idea initially.

This struck me as funny. He makes it sound like his name is really Jim and he just likes Peter better.

Out comes Chris and what artist does he pick? Johnny Cash! What song? "Walk the Line". So here is the deal American Idol forces Chris into the 50's he says fine picks an outlaw country artist and turns the song into alternative rock and blows away the competition once again.

Absolutely right!

For those of us who did Junior High in the '50s, it seemed that Taylor captured it.

But why did he go that route? That song didn't suit him at all, IMO.

Hey Jonny, the March 27 issue of TV Guide reports that Ace's real name is Brett! It also quotes him as saying, I've been performing since I was 11, but I've never been able to get to my fan base." LOL! I wonder who he thinks his fan base is.

For Taylor Hicks fans only ( like myself ). THIS IS WHAT I WANT TAYLOR TO SING IF HE HAS THE CHANCE. If he sings this, he wins ( put on your headphones ), this is Taylor at his soulful best :

Hi, Wolfstar :)

The performance I disliked the most was Kellie Pickler's rendition of 'Walkin After Midnight.' That was HORRIBLE, just horrible. I mean, the woman in the song is not walking after midnight to pick up tricks, but that's exactly how Hickler sang it. Slutty, cheap, trashy, totally missed the meaning of the song, and she was also flat in several places. For the first time in AI history, I actually found myself hating a contestant.

ROFL!! I don't think Manilow was that thrilled with her either. IIRC, he told her that she was singing the song wrong during practice. Either the Gherkin ignored him or his advice just went over her head.

Manilow probably had to take some aspirin after she left :)

A lot of guys I know, like a woman with some meat on her.

YES!

The starving stick-figure look is the product of gays in the fashion industry. They want women to look like men, or to be androgynous. Sick.

IIRC, he told her that she was singing the song wrong during practice.

Manilow did try to tell her the meaning of the song, but she's incapable of feeling that music, I guess. On the other hand, Manilow did tell her she has a good voice. She has a so-so voice with a tendency to go flat from time to time. You know those old records and record players. You how sometimes a record would have a small scratch and when the needle came to it, it would sound like the singer dropped a note or went flat or something?

Listen carefully to Pickler. Her voice will be reasonably melodic, then all of a sudden there will be a catch and she goes flat for a few notes before coming back. Strange. Her pronounciation of some of the words in that song last night was also strange.

I totally agree with you both. Most men want a woman with a womanly curve, not a twig.

Good evening...

I posted Tradesports last night around midnight and AOL poll today.

Here's what Tradesports has now:
Bucky is trading at $64 per share (out of $100) so he's pretty much a sure thing to go home tonight.
Next is Lisa at $28 and Elliott at $18.
Kevin is at $15

The rest are in the single numbers. (Even Paris and Ace are single numbers....too bad)

So maybe we can use this existing thread to play on as the show continues week to week?

That's fine with me, but I'm not interested in starting another thread/ping list. I have my hands full as it is.

Kellie's mic did have some kind of problem, because there was a weird thumping noise coming from it. BUT I also would not be surprised if it was intentionally cut off so we wouldn't have to hear her ramble.

I was thinking the same thing. Odd how the mic cut out as soon as she finished the song ...

Pretty much the same reason we guys turn over and go to sleep when we're done.

LOL! They gave her a hand mic, but that didn't work either.
