...I'll tell you where, he wrote it, created it and gave it to the band to play.

I like Chris and hope he wins but he didnt write this version. Live did.

In the end if Elliott doesn't go down in history being compared musically to Clay Aiken I'm sure he won't mind.

LOL! ";^)

If he survives tonight, it means there are plenty of fans who get what he's doing, and want to hear more.

WOW! That's crazy. All three are very handsome! I'd say Vin Deisel though.

I wasn't impressed with Chris tonight, but he's still one of my favorites!

My 15 year old daughter loved it. She said, "I would totally buy that, it was awesome."

Lisa tried to do something like that, but I can't remember what it was--I doubt many of the voters can either :-/ And Bucky sang a Buddy Holly song, but it was ho-hum.

G'morning, Jonny. The problem with Lisa is that she doesn't have that indefinable 'it' factor. She's lovely, sweet, has a good voice, never sings a bad note, and she puts her heart into her performances. But she's as bland as bland can be, which makes her very forgettable.

Bucky just flat out can't sing or perform. If the voters get it right, he'll be going home tonight.

I didn't have a favorite performance last night, although it was the best overall night so far.

I guess if I had to pick a favorite performance it would be Katharine's, but only because she finally seems to have overcome her vocal-coach-mom-anxiety thing.

BUT -- and this is big to me -- whoever controls the AI songbook needs to do their homework (truth in advertising people, truth in advertising). "Come Rain or Come Shine" is NOT A 1950'S song, and it's not an Ella Fitzgerald song. It was written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, and was published in 1946. The earliest recording of it was the Sy Oliver/Tommy Dorsey version recorded on January 31, 1946, and the song has been covered by a huge list of performers (the ASCAP database lists 112). It's a great standard, but not a particularly hard song to sing.

The performance I disliked the most was Kellie Pickler's rendition of 'Walkin After Midnight.' That was HORRIBLE, just horrible. I mean, the woman in the song is not walking after midnight to pick up tricks, but that's exactly how Hickler sang it. Slutty, cheap, trashy, totally missed the meaning of the song, and she was also flat in several places. For the first time in AI history, I actually found myself hating a contestant.

I had mixed feelings about Chris' performance. What he did was OK, but I really dislike how he turns every song into alternative rock. Simon said he refuses to compromise, as though that's some kind of good thing. Sometimes it is, but not in this case. Actually Chris is refusing to step outside his ultra narrow comfort zone. On the other hand, what he does within that comfort zone is good, and he is playing to a 2006 audience.

Taylor: I disagree that his performance was all that bad. His song choice was lousy. 'Not Fade Away' is one of those early rock songs that are all about the then-fresh, new rock beat and the instrumentals than about the lyrics. What that song is all about is its hard-driving rock beat. The lyrics in songs like 'Fade Away' are almost an afterthought. It certainly is not a good choice for a singing contest. If Taylor just had to do Buddy Holly, there were better choices for him. However, Taylor did try to perform it in a genuine 1950's style. Problem is, it doesn't work as authentic for him.

The bottom three based on last night should be Bucky, Kevin and Kellie. If I had my personal choice, I would send Kellie home. Ugh!

Vin Deisel was on Conan last night.
You should post a pic of him between Chris Daughtry and Adam Sandler.

As sick as it sounds, she's too big to be a model. They want women to be a size 4 or smaller.

All the more reason to be a model. They need to start showing America that the average woman is not size 4 or smaller and actually, it's unhealthy to be that small.

A lot of guys I know, like a woman with some meat on her. Whatever happened to curvacious and voluptuous women? We need more "models" like that now, more than ever, and being skinny and having your bones stick out is just disgusting, imo.

I hate when that happens. I keep the html codes of all my frequently posted pics saved on MS Word for convenience

Google for the picture...you'll find plenty to choose from.

Should women like Katherine be hired as models, abso-freakin'-lutely. Will they, probably not and that is sad.

If nothing else Pantene should make her a spokesperson. She has great hair.

Nail on head. If AI does not make changes, the Chris's will soon find out from those that went before them that they are extremely limited during competition and as winners. A double edged sword that may keep the best from bothering to competing. Of course, I believe this is quite true throughout the music industry. The awesome singer, songwriters, musicians are signed and the talent that got them signed is immediately reigned in, in favor of the 3 minute, radio-friendly, pop tunes that sell.

I can't imagine it will be too long before the next ridiculous nanny-state thread comes along. Check there.

Maybe you could have replaced the 'D' word with "injection molded persoanl pleasure device" and you wouldn't have to fear the ban stick.

There is something about Elliot that drives me nuts...when he throws his head to the right and squints his eyes. It reminds me of Ray Charles, and I was never a fan of his. IMHO...
