for Tammy
And if I'm not mistaken, the San Quentin album also contains the very first recording of "A Boy Named Sue"--it's certainly the best version that I've heard.
Those cons are an appreciative audience, aren't they? :)
Cash: "San Quentin, I hate every inch of you."
Cons: "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"
LOL
No disrespect at all to Kelly. Katharine is a lovely girl with a figure that is best described as voluptuous. Kelly is more the girl-next-door type.
"This is my couch--you wish this was your couch."
Gag me, indeed! That girl just gets more unlikable to me with every passing day.
Hi Emily. Yep, Taylor has grown on me. He is the epitome of what it means to be an entertainer, and I like that.
Amen.
I don't understand Simon when he does this. He's obviously a sharp businessman man--he wouldn't be where he is if he wasn't. So can't he see that he's hurting his business when he says these things?
Maybe he's trying to "create drama" for the show. I don't know ... To me he just looks like an ungrateful ass.
That's because he is an ungrateful ass.
It sure is.
while I'm on the subject of Simon, I do wish he would give them some constructive criticism sometimes
Most of the time Simon nails them with criticisms--he says what we're all thinking. But every now and then, he'll say something just to get a laugh.
Like on Tuesday night, he told Hicks that he looked like "a drunk dad at a wedding". That's funny, but what's Hicks supposed to do with that information?
Absolutely. And this first album was rushed, in addition to every thing else. Hopefully, Bo will be allowed time to fully recover and select material, possibly write his own songs. There's an "enhanced" version of the album that contains more of his own songs, and his fans seem to enjoy that version MUCH more than the standard version.
Here's one of the customer reviews on Amazon.com

Bo's CD is a little disappointing, at first. Not his usual style -- UNTIL you get to the bonus tracks that he wrote. Pure Bo as we knew him on American Idol. Actually, better than we saw him in competition.
Possibly, but they're probably not as much fun :)
ROFL!!
Well yeah :)
I agree with everything you said in that post.

NEW YORK, March 17 (UPI) -- "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell predicts the final three in this season's finals will be Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks and Kellie Pickler.
Cowell made his prediction for the Fox TV talent competition during a Thursday telephone conversation broadcast on Howard Stern's Sirius satellite radio show, the New York Post reported Friday.
"Let me tell you who's gonna be in the finals," Cowell said. "The bald-headed kid (Daughtry) and the guy with gray hair (Hicks)."
A few minutes later, he added, "I think the top three will be the two I mentioned and Kellie Pickler."
Around this time last year, Cowell correctly predicted Carrie Underwood would take the crown, the newspaper noted.
I love the San Quentin album!
Cash: "If you guards are still speakin to me, wouldja bring me a glass of water?"
No one howls like cons in a concert!!!
'Just listened to Carrie's "Some Hearts" album and couldn't believe my ears...
Remember when we were joking last season about rumors that might spread about Carrie tipping cows?
Her song "I Ain't in Checotah Anymore" has a line where she says she'd "rather be tippin' cows in Tulsa"!!!
Hmmmm....
Of course--they're a captive audience (har, har! :)
"I Ain't In Checotah Anymore" is one of my favorites on the album--and Carrie has co-writing credit on that one too. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come :)
"Wasted", "Just Can't Live A Lie" and of course "Jesus Take The Wheel" are very good too.
And doesn't Carrie sound like a seasoned pro already? I was very impressed with her first album.
Yes, he should, but you know he won't. Isn't he part owner of the show or something? You'd think he would realize that by dissing a winner, he steps on his own foot.
Taylor kind of sort of reminds me a bit of Roger Miller. Suppose he could be persueded to do 'You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd', or 'Dang Me'? LOL Kidding. I think its just the playfullness he exhibits. Still he's infectious. :)
I didn't think that was funny. I thought it was insulting, but done in a backhanded way. I hope Hicks wins. I think deep down, Simon didn't want Carrie to win. But she did and she is doing well. Maybe he just doesn't like being wrong. He already admitted he was wrong about Hicks, but I think he wants Kellie to win. I want Hicks to win and I hope his CD's fly off the shelf and Simon can eat a bit more crow.
He's always trying to tell us what we want, when what we want is not what he wants to force down our throats. He got away with it with fantasia and maybe people decided never again and now they vote in droves.
He was asked about his comment about liking Pickler better than Carrie. He said it was a spur of the moment comment and that he sometimes gets into trouble saying things like that. He said sometimes he will say something one week and then change his mind the next week. He said he liked Kellie that particular week and said it. I got the impression that he didn't mean to dis Carrie.
He said who he thought were the top three and said Taylor, Chris and Kellie. King asked if Taylor had a chance and Simon said Yes, oh... yes.
He said he seldom disagrees with the voting audience. Said Randy and Paula will sometimes whine about someone getting voted off and thats when he said at this point it just doesn't matter. People getting voted off now weren't going to win anyway.
Said he thought the voting audience had picked the right winners each season. (I would disagree on two, but whatever) and he was asked about his thoughts regarding Kelly's success. He said it vindicates the show.
They spoke with Ryan Seacrest at the top of the show and I took it that they are really good friends and there is a 'game' of sorts, to see who gets the last word in each week.
Some woman called in, saying that her 17 year old daughter was a really good singer and wanted to know what advice Simon would give her if she wanted to audition. Simon said the chances of winning are like the lotter, but the best advice would be to play some hard gigs and crowds and get EXPERIENCE. I think he is right on about that. The people we enjoy the most are those that have some experience.
All in all it was a good, informative and fun show.
