Good night, day10! It probably won't be long for me -- I've got a "Go to Sleep Headache" going on right now.

Election night was actually pretty interesting as well.
I dropped by the Roosevelt Hotel-Election Day HQ for Republicans in this city-to watch disconsolately as Rick Lazio gave his concession speech in the final hours of his race against Her Shrillness.
As the results trickled in at 9:00 P.M.-the poll-closing time here-and the GOP candidates lost-as is their custom-I pondered going home.
Once it became clear that GWB wasn't doing as well as I had anticipated I began to contemplate leaving.
But I had decided to stick around a bit longer.
As I was leaving I noticed a small crowd gathered around a monitor and tentatively applauding.
Tennessee-ALGORE's home state-had gone to Bush.
I thought, "well, maybe this won't be a total loss," but still took the subway home dreading a Gore presidency.
By the time I had arrived home-I think this was after midnight-a dramatic turn of events had occurred.
Imagine my shock when I heard that the electoral vote count was now dead-even.
I was even more pleased when Dan Rather announced-rather presumptuously as it turns out-that Gov. Bush had clinched the state of Florida, and that his election was a done deal.
The moral of that story is to never trust anything that comes out of Dan Rather's mouth.

Nasty and damp.
Too warm for this time of year. Rainy.
It should be about 20 degrees (with a few feet of snow) but yesterday was 50.
We haven't had much snow this winter at all. It'd be nice to have a fresh covering of snow.
