Perhaps the first thing that leaps out is that it's a very Beatle-centric list. "Sgt. Pepper" is No. 1 as it often is in such lists, but two of the top three albums are by the Beatles, three of the first five and four of the first 10.
The first 10 are:
1) "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles 2) "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys 3) "Revolver" by the Beatles 4) "Highway 61 Revisited" by Bob Dylan 5) "Rubber Soul" by the Beatles 6) "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye 7) "Exile on Main Street" by the Rolling Stones 8) "London Calling" by the Clash 9) "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan 10) "The Beatles" (The White Album) by the Beatles

LOL!!!
I have that...hilarious....and biting commentary by Frank....I think I'll ck out the C/S tonight.
Actually, "Watermelon on (in) Easter Hay" is a really soothing song and if I recall that is on the one of the album disks.
Another album I love that got trashed by the critics. "Benefit" is excellent too.
Sigh... No mention of the Beat Farmers' "Glad N Greasy" RIP Country Dick Montana.
I am now as we speak, working myself into an imaginary frenzy.
when your married to H your married for life.
GREAT TUNE.
I'm really into Eric Burdon. When he is "on" he is the best rock singer I can think of. He has made a lot of dud albums, but he has a few real sleepers that never made it big and not too many people know about.
Besides "Sun Secrets", the other two "secret" Burdon albums are "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted" and "Ark". Both are available on CD only as imports are are expensive. The original Animals play with Burdon again. Some songs are "Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff, "Baby Blue" by Dylan and "Please Send Me Someone to Love" with xylophone used.
If you feel like Freepmailing me your address (and name) I'll send you a "care package" fo free of some good stuff. Blank CD's are cheap...
They did a decent cover of "Battle of Evermore."
Thanks for the heads up. Those songs you mentioned bring back some memories of old. Santa Esmeralda recorded a disco version of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". I actually liked it, too.
You guys are definately serious music fans, as am I.
My favorite band is NRBQ. Do you know them?
I have well over 200 live concerts on cd, a lot audience tapes I recorded myself.
Al Anderson is my favorite songwriter and the best guitar player that I have ever heard.
"Get That Gasoline"
Is NRBQ a American band? I'm not familiar with them, but I may have heard some of their songs on the radio without catching their name. I'll check out their music on CD universe and may order one of their albums the next go-round. Which of their albums do you like best? You can usually preview about 30 seconds of some songs at the universe.
I confess. I haven't heard of them.
Checked out samples of NRBQ at the universe. A live album from 2002. Sounds like country rock that leans more towards country than the Allman Brothers or Lynrd Skynrd. Not bad!
I did the same thing. Went to their website and looked at their CDs. Are they anything like Flo and Eddie?
NRBQ...New Rhythm and Blues Quartet.
Something is telling me these guys are good.
They are my favorite, judging by the stuff you mentioned, I think you would like them. The guitar player , Al Anderson is off the charts - awesome!
Check out this interview, when you have some time,of course
http://www.puremusic.com/al1.html
Click on one of the albums and scroll down. Sometimes there is a list of songs and sometimes not. If the song has two notes in front of it, you can click on the notes and preview the songs. Nothing like Flo and Eddie. Leans towards country with a rock flavor and some slower type ballads is the best way I can put it. And check your mail. I checked mine.
Peek-A-Boo, huh? Would that be a good place to start?
