Texas junior quarterback Vince Young plans to enter the NFL draft and forgo his final year of college, a close family friend said today. Young plans to make the announcement this afternoon at a press conference in Austin.
"He has the blessing of God, the pastor and his family," said Yolanda Lezine, Young's godmother and the family media's spokeswoman. "It's his decision. Everybody is going to support him a 110 percent."
Young capped off his career Wednesday night, rallying the Longhorns from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat two-time defending national champion Southern California, 41-38, in the Rose Bowl.
The Madison product will hire Bus Cook as his agent. Cook is also the agent for Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair, Young's mentor, and Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

oh I know.
He's still FReepmailing me, promising to "embarrass me by posting them on FR"
I told him to go for it :)
LOL
NOW he is threatening to post a thread, trying to "expose" me
LOL
I told him to go for it :)
Houston needs a new coach AND a new quarteback.
Wow!
I guess he really wants to go there. Well, if he does. I'll be around. Hehe! I need something amusing to do between getting my house ready for appraisal and putting kids to bed.
I can always count on you to make my evenings more exciting, huh?
Thank you! LOL!
hehe yep :)
FReepmail :)
Then perhaps your friend/one in the same? should not present himself as a member of the military. He posted some rather ugly comments...and now I know coming from someone who was there for financial gain...frankly it is disguisting....please pass along my thoughts...I expect it will be a short journey!!!
I don't think it would be a good idea. You've shown yourself to be pretty cool in the football threads (even though we often disagree) so I would try to prevent things from getting personal.
BTW, I think that fans of all college teams are pretty much the same - some are are nice as can be and a few vocal ones will be complete asses.
I think one exception would be schools that have just started winning for the first time ever (or in a long time). They seem to be far more aggressive.
I'm still wondering where the heck you got the idea he was passing himself off as a member of the military. Not everyone in Iraq is in the military.
To insult those that are there to help our military and the people of Iraq isn't acceptable either.
Wow, that article is incredible. And I thought the Northeast had the monopoly on cynical sportswriters!
How about from previous posts......Mr. one in the same!!
This was your statement to him. And you are the one that claimed him to be a *wannabe*. So? If you don't serve in the military in Iraq, you shouldn't be given credit? I wouldn't sit here and try to insult your service to Vietnam for our great country and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't do the same to Mike.

As you can see, Notre Dame has lots of teams that have played tougher competition and defeated them this season. How on earth can anyone justify ranking the Irish number nine in spite of this is beyond comprehension. I wish the BCS would re-instate the quality win component into it's formula and include the top twenty five teams rather than just the top ten. This would force schools to toughen up their schedules and we would all end up with a fairer championship.
Woohoo!! MY PREDICTION FOR 2006 CAME TRUE!! LMAO
Vince was awesome against the collegiate Trojans. I don't know, but I have this feeling that he will have trouble in the NFL. He is too lanky to take NFL style punishment as a scrambler, which was a big asset for him in the Rose Bowl.
As a rule scrambling QBs don't do too well in the NFL. But Young is a big guy and he's proven he's got a terrific arm. I wish him luck, even if he doesn't end up in Houston!
ROFL. Exposing yourself?? Or himself?? Either way that'll get ya moved to the smoky backroom! LMBO!!!
Nah, we don't do it in Texas. If you pick a fight, you'll find one, but we generally don't see the point in acting like jerks. One thing, though, the bars on Red River, north of 6th Street; if anybody offers to push your stool in for you, don't take them up on it.
you just stupid.
LOL
columbus has a section of town called Gerbil Village LOL
LOL
I don't understand it.
but I have every one of his stupid FReepmails saved if you want a laugh....
